Another Spanish-English translation request?

I’m trying to figure out a bumper sticker recently seen: Hablamos con dios y menos por (picture of a phone).

We talk less with God than we do on the phone? We talk with God and less on our phones? IOW, spend more time talking to God than on your cell phone?

Yea. “We talk with God and less by phone” would be the literal way… We spend more time talking to God and less time talking on the phone (I don’t know if the picture was of a cell phone or of a regular phone).

Gracias.

Does not make sense in Spanish to me as it is. OTOH, “hablemos con Dios y menos por teléfono” means “let’s talk with God and less on the phone”.

I agree. The wording was actually given to me, I didn’t see it myself. It makes sense that an important pronunciation was… ha!.. lost in translation, and I heard “hablamos” and not “hablemos”.

I think it must actually have said Habla más con Dios y menos por [teléfono].

I don’t think so. This was my sis calling me with the sticker in her sights. She doesn’t know much Spanish, but she would for sure know to articulate the two words Habla and mas clearly. And she definitely said “hablamos” as one word.

That makes even more sense. “Talk more with God and less on the phone.”

Well, for the fifty millionth time this week, I am wrong. Sigh.

Just got this from sis in an email:

“… it was written as habla mas con dios y menos por (pic of a cell phone).”

So, I am, in fact, wrong wrong wrong-ity wrong wrong about my sis’s ability to read Spanish! Apologies to Biffy. I’ll never ever doubt you again! Thank Dios I have no pride and am perfectly ok with looking like a dork to an international message board.

Only being picky because you so often are :D:
English requires the pronoun: It does not make sense…
