Poor Chuck, he really never catches a break with the ladies. I commented last week that the very stupid plots are only there as means to further character development. This week’s “previous on” really confirmed that, focusing solely on Chuck’s relationships and not dealing one bit with the secret agent stuff.
Another fun ride and Morgan actually got to make out with Anna. Baldwin didn’t get enough cool lines beyond “No stupid, it’s to get you laid” [paraphrased]. The ensemble is so rich now, they can leave sis and awesome out for a week without problem. I didn’t like Lou [the ferrethead] so I’m glad she seems to be out of the picture.
I actually kept your observation about the show being more about the characters than the plot in mind this week while watching Charlie Tan and it made it much more enjoyable. I was even able to overlook the “resurrect the dead guy” thing at the end without looking for the shark tank. The show really is about the characters relationships with each other with some nerdy-tech and some spy-y-stuff thrown in as window dressing. I did like how the bad guys faked out the agencies because they had found the bug that Chuck just sort of threw on the tray. That was a bit more realistic than “hmm…wasn’t that the dorky pin Chuck was wearing? Ah well…must have just dropped it or something”.
And I gotta say, the Anna/Chuck post-kiss moment near the end was priceless. “Awkward…” This is really a great show, and I’m with you, Atrael–I hope they didn’t jump the shark with the BFTD thing. I’ll also be interested to see how they handle Anna and Chuck next week.
And this damn writer’s strike–only what, 4 new episodes left?
Bryce is Chuck’s college roommate that got him thrown out of Stanford and then apparently went rogue stealing and then sending the information to Chuck that has got Chuck entangled with the NSA & CIA.
