Thanks for the hugs all. My migraine is better today, but I spent all day yesterday not being able to focus my left eye. I’m wondering if they’re related. I’m going to see what I can do about getting in to see the doctor about it. My dad has MS, and something presenting as optic neuritis is concerning for me; that’s how they diagnosed it in my dad.
But today, I only have a half-day of work. Juliet Jr. was hanging with grandma and grandpa down in Illinois, so I’m heading to Milwaukee to meet them and bring her back. But before I meet up with them, I’m heading to the new IKEA that opened a few months back in Oak Creek. I love IKEA. It’s a sickness, really. I’m so pumped about seeing my girlie again after she’s been gone for almost a week… and going to IKEA!
It’s going to be another hot day. The front postage stamp needs mowing today, since it is supposed to rain the rest of the week.
I woke at 3am and couldn’t fall back asleep until it was almost time to get up.
I am tired but I don’t see a nap anytime soon.
I’m sorry about your co-worker Red.
I think we finally have everything set up for my son’s classes. From the emails he is getting, several of his classmates are having problems.
All of the classes go through something called Canvas, (his last school used Moodle) but then he has to connect to a different publisher? for each class. So one class uses Pearson, he is already familiar with them and has an account with them. He had trouble changing the email address but we got that fixed. Then he had to set up the other three classes.
Anyway, it is done and he is already turning in assignments.
Lots of thunderboomers last night. This morning garbage cans and branches littered the streets. We needed the rain and hopefully the front will cool things off. The last few days have had heat indexes (indices??) at 100. I’m watching the U.S. Open (tennis) and there is concern for the athletes having to play in 90 degree weather. Um, they are athletes. Are they not conditioned to play in the summer, you know, when tennis is played outdoors???
Soft food for a couple days. The dentist found a little decay under a crown (I told him where to look – something felt different) and now I have a temp while the real one is being made. Ah the joys of adulthood.
Also as a strange aside ----- for the first time in my adult life I think of money in terms of time. It always was before X$ was X$; now I think/translate into terms of hours at Da Jungle. Eating lunch out is 30 minutes, a Knoebels t-shirt is an hour, a new car is more than a year. I never did things like this before but suddenly its creeping into my brain. Doesn’t matter that what I make from Jeff is a fraction of what I make, it still just pops through my brain that way. Yet another sign that I’m getting older and returning to my youth.
Mowage has been completed and I am all showered, hydrated, and dressed in goin’ about the public clothin’. I shall shortly betake myself to the Pubic Sto’ to lay in provisions. ‘Tis cloudy out which made mowage somewhat easier so there’s that. Anywho, to the sto’ I shall go anon. I’ll figure out sup whilst there. Rah. Look at me, adultin’ away!
Indices is the correct plural of index, but indice (pronounced IN-diss-see by certain idiotic talking heads) is not the singular of indices. I’ve heard way too many people on TV say that, including last night on a network news program. It makes me stabby!!! Learn English, dammit!
Lunch break! I’m having the last of the leftover lasagna. We normally have more leftover, but my SIL is a garbage disposal sometimes - that guy can pack away some food! I can’t imagine how my MIL fed 3 teenage boys…
Juliet It’s very common to have blurry vision as a side effect with migraine. (I have lots of migraines.) Given your family history, you should absolutely check with your neurologist, but I wouldn’t worry too much.
Red sorry to hear about your co-worker.
Midget Talking to your pharmacist about your medicine as a first step is a really good idea. They’re easier to reach, and they’re trained on all of these things. Often the side effects lay out every single possibility and it’s hard to know whether one really needs to worry. Pharmacists are very helpful for those questions.
I spent most of Monday have a panic attack, but managed to get some things done. The move is scheduled for the week of September 10. I’m trying to get other things done before that, like car tune ups and such.
It feels like it has dropped into Fall. The trees up the road have turned color, and mornings are brisk, even if the afternoons still get hot.
Howdy Y’all! Provisions have been laid in and now live where they live until used. Speakin’ of used, I browsed over in the used meat section at the sto’ and scored a package of two nice lookin’ rib eyes which shall become sup tonight. I bought some bag sallit (don’t judge!), and will chunk up some N.O.T., onion, and bell pepper which shall be nuked (sprinkle on a little whassishere sauce, dot with butter and nuke until tender) and bake up some frozen rolls. Sup will be teh num!
Happy Hump Day to those of you who are able to fit it in.

Ate a sammich of not very good salami and sharp cheddar. I really need to go to the store and get some lunch type stuffs. I Like those little mostly already prepared bowls of Southwestern style salads. I also like those Lean Cuisine fire-roasted chili tamales and their Korean BBQ beef. Don’t judge.
Our tomatoes and eggplants have been over-enthusiastic lately to the point that we’re giving veg away. Last night Wifey roasted a bunch of maters and eggplant (with some other veg) in the oven and made even more marinara sauce to go in the freezer.
Tonight’s dinner shall be sketties.
I have 3 of the next four days off, but I can’t do anything since my check was shorted, and spent the remainder on bills instead of booze. When did I become a “spent the drug money on rent” kind of guy?:dubious:
We have consumed sup and it was good. We’s both stuffded. Chillage now ensues. Oh and I have ribs ‘n chikin thawin’ out. Smokeage of both shall be achieved on Firday. Tomorrow I shall defilthyfy the remainin’ filthy parts of da cave.
Poor {{{doggio}}} - sometimes adulting sucketh mightily!
We let the Chaptico deli make supper - fried chickie, JoJo fries (seasoned steak fries) and beans. Enough for 4 plus leftovers for $23 - not a bad deal, methinks. I’m about to assume the knitting position and chill the evening away.
ruble, I am guessing that you also like the late Ma Ramey.
Moooooom, my last pickup had the ABS light on for most of its lifetime. The first time that it came on, I took it to the dealership where they determined that it was an issue with the light rather than the brakes. I took it back every time it came on while it was under warranty (I don’t know why they didn’t do more than just reset the code), but once it was out of warranty, I just left it on.
doggio, I feel your pain. What with the expense of changing vehicles and an  light bill, I’m staying pretty close to home for the weekend. Going to a friend’s tapas party will be as complicated as it gets.
I’ll be headed to the funeral home (this is one part of getting older that royally sucks) to pay my respects to Bruce Friday afternoon. His msmorial service will be Saturday.
Other than that, I’ll be off irk from, at latest, 2 post meridian Friday until 7:30 Tuesday ante meridian. Sloth shall ensue.
doggio, bad about the check; are you going to be reimbursed for it? And hopefully the jersey will still be in stock when the money is there.
Got an hour of soccer practice in-between rain showers, there is something about 5-6 year old kids that just makes it hard to stay grumpy…they are so happy all the time (right up until they are not). Tonight is supposed to be wetter, we’ll see.
