Dang it Doggio. That ain’t right. I’m feeling irritated. Anyone I can yell at for you?
Next Thursday(the 6th :/) And it may be a while, unless I win the lottery. In which case I will be showing up drunk and disheveled on any number of people’s doorsteps.
Sunny, I’ve already done the yelling.
Went to rehearsal tonight. We were in a different part of the school than usual. I tried to use a nearby bathroom, but something happened with the toilets and water started covering the whole floor, so I bailed out of there and walked around the school looking for a better bathroom. I found one, but then got locked into that part of the school by the janitors or whoever does that. Eventually a security guard found and rescued me. I ended up being late for the second half of rehearsal.
And that was only the end of an anxiety-through-the-roof day. A friend had to ride the subway home with me after rehearsal because otherwise I would’ve joined my other friends at the bar and broken my 4 years of sobriety.
Look at the time stamp; tough day at Da Jungle with multiple late trucks.
On the good side I met a young lady I want to marry or adopt or something. Heck, I’m guessing she’s about 25 so lots of possibilities. We were on the one lane together and her phone (which we aren’t supposed to have on the floor but everyone does anyway) went off. Her “ring tone” was:
In nineteen hundred and seventy-five all the people rose from the countryside
to move against you government man d’you understand
locked together hand in hand all thru this unsteady land–
gonna roll roll roll the rock around roll roll roll the rock around
lift the rock out of the ground.
She saw me sort of stop dead and apologized and I said “War Movie, Bark, released on Grunt. And thank you for liking something obscure enough that even Jefferson Airplane fans wouldn’t recognize it.”
If she was older by a LOT I would have to consider a paternity test. But I guess I’ll just settle for thinking there is some hope for the future generations.
{{Everyone who wants one}}
My brain did not want to sleep last night, then did not want to wake up this morning. I blame the gloomy, stuffy weather.
Got irk later; Thursdays are normally a bit busier, so with luck I’ll finish the shift at least. I think plans before that are another attempt at finding non-pointy shoes that I like. I seem to remember there was other stuff that needed doing, but coffee isn’t helping as much as it should be this morning.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy (dark, actually) with a predicted high of 88 and mostly cloudy with chances of rain/tstorm/apocalypse late mornin’ into the afternoon. We shall see. Cave spiff up is on the agenda for today as well as preppin’ ribs, chikin boobs, and chikin laigs for the smoker tomorrow. Hamburger steak 'n gravy, smashed N.O.T. and green beans are on the menu for tonight’s sup. Not real imaginative, but good and easy enough to make.
{{{Midget}}} ust cause it looks like you could use a hug.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, defilthyfycation must commence. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
The weather-guesser said our heat wave has broken - the heat index today will only reach the mid-90s, not triple digits - truly Autumn is falling!
I woke in the wee small hours and was about to get up and yell at my daughter for having the TV so loud, when I realized it was **FCD **snoring. It was an odd sound - more like chanting, which is why I thought it was the TV. Luckily, I fell back to sleep.
Today, Roxy gets her second round of shots - rescheduled from last week when they found out their insurance went away. She seems to have made so much progress in 4 months - it’s no kidding when people say “They grow up so fast!”
End of Grandmother mode.
Happy Thursday!!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall be veering between bouts of sloth and cleaning today.
{{{Midget}}}} Glad you had a friend to help you out.
Howdy, Irking as a clerk today cause my best clerk took a couple days off. That leaves me and the English lady. English lady has been out sick every day this week so we shall see. I told her she must bring me a doctor note. Dammit
Happy Thursday!
{{{Midget}}}. We all get days like that; sounds like you had 4-5 of them all at once. Nice to have friends as good as that one, though.
Butters, I’d come work for you (averaged less than one sick day a year for the last 12 years of my career), but I’m afraid the commute is a bit too long…
Moooomm, I’ve been described as a chainsaw in my bouts of snoring. One guy I roomed with on vacation did a excellent imitation of a humpback whale. Hope he rolls over and stops.
Nut: WAKE UP!!!. There now, did that help?
Ruble, might be things aren’t as bad as they seem…nah, they are as bad, but finding something to smile about does make it somewhat better.
Been a slow week on the remodel, but according to the contractor things should be picking up today and tomorrow. Rain is expected this afternoon and tomorrow, so soccer practice is a great unknown. At least I got the garbage out for pickup.
Happy Thorsday!
I woke at 4, so only 5 hours of sleep and I feel blurfy.
I am looking forward to a nap when I get off irk.
It’s hot and N.O.S. outside but supposed to storm later.
Just got a notice that my hockey season tickets have been shipped.
: bounces excitedly :
The pimp & the coke dealers doorsteps? :o
I ordered two things online. Yesterday moaning I looked at the tracking of each of them. One was 250ish miles away & brown men will bring it today. The other was less than 50 miles away but the former federales won’t bring it until tomorrer. :smack:
I hereby pronounced da cave to be spiffed and pretty much sanitary. This means that anyone who comes over probably won’t get any real major diseases. Since that’s pretty much what I aim for, I have accomplished my task. Also, 'tis rainyish out. Good day to be inside and dry.
Dropped Juliet Jr. off at her first day of kindergarten this morning. Romeo Jr. was more upset about it than anyone; he kept crying, “Sissy, back! Stay, Sissy!” He loves his big sister.
FCM, our heatwave broke… yesterday it was a high of 63 in my neck of the woods. Just a few hours south, where my parents live, it was still near 100. What a difference 7 hours of driving can make. But it’s short lived; it’ll be hot and stormy again this weekend, and so much of Wisconsin is dealing with flooding issues; we don’t need more rain.
Mmmh? Gimme 'nother 5 minutes…
Still have not acquired shoes. In my defence, there are few shoe shops in this area and the one in the neighbouring town turned out to be tiny. I think I’m also a little early for boots, they’ll be flooding the shops in another month or so.
Anyway, I should get ready for irk.
Okay
::Whaps Metal Mouse::
Snooze button
Thanks, all.
No problem kiddo. We worry about you and want to give you all the support we can from the distances involved. Of course I worry about everyone but being old its my God-given right to worry a lot. Now hugs to you and stay off my lawn — use the sidewalk dammit.
Prepares large Bucket of Ice Water and dons Spider-Stomping Boots. Now, who gets which?
Kitchen Cabinets are being installed as I write and my new bathtub should be arriving in the garage shortly, so things are looking up in the remodel area. On the other hand, it’s noisy as heck and I don’t much care for the country music station they have on, but they are annoyances I can live with to get my house back.
Juliet, just wait a few years and see how he’s getting along with big Sis…<grin>
