Awesome. Popcap games are always the best.
Initiate. Made me think of Place bets now!!!
Junior Apprentice, baybee!
Thanks Biggirl, you rock!
Imperial Pyrotechnicist.
With a trackpad.
On Hard.
It’s time to do something else now ::twitch::
Another Junior Apprentice. Damn that game is fun.
Freshmen now. Interesting.
99K. Wanderer, I think.
I keep scoring in the 60K range…
180K+. Master Performer.
(Yes, that did take almost an hour)
Let’s see…I’m done with my corrections but I’m too tired to go out and celebrate tonight. I know, I’ll play this game some more. I’ve made it to Wanderer now. Now I think I need to go see if I can beat that. Who needs food and sleep when there’s a new puzzle game to conquer?
For some reason half of popcap is not working for me…
I don’t know why
(I can get Insaniquarium… I can’t get this or Big Money)
I have very mixed feelings about this.
I don’t want to spend my time wisely!!!
Help me.
WOOHOO! I got “Assistant to the Master!” 52,225 points.
You really get the big bucks when you launch lots of rockets at once.
Damn you and popcap to hell, biggirl. I was just starting to get the hang of it when I got to the level with the dead ends.
I HAD THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND!
I forwarded the link to the more discerning of my friends – got a thank you and three death threats.
I was shaking from the withdrawal symptoms at work today.
I haven’t cracked 100K yet, and I’m still playing at the easy level. Keep in mind, however, that I am a middle-aged woman, with the reflexes thereof. My last game, however, I did get a … what’s one more than quintuple? … six-times link. Woo-hoo!
Yes, popcap is always high on my block list. If people can’t be bothered to save it to disk and home and bring it into work, they shouldn’t be allowed to play.
young selemander is my highest so far.
i just love dragons…and find the character adorable…‘get ready!’
Woohoo! I’m a Crowd Pleaser! 123,000 points.
Now it’s definitely time to go to bed.
Just fired it up to check my high score from last night – no, really, that’s the only reason – and the “hover” comment on high scores is “Glorious Heroes of Pyrotechnics.”
(The score, BTW, was 139,885, with one 6x connection and a whole slew of 5’s – I’m starting to get the hang of this.)
Well, since that window’s been opened, I guess I have time for one game before I go take a shower…
Biggirl, you are going to burn in Hell!
What is it about this game? I don’t want to stop playing!
Got up to 600,000 (about level 21) after a week or so of playing on easy level. You get a lot of points once all the rockets have been upgraded to 10, cause all the points go to you and not to upgrades. It was an awesome feeling.
It is digital crack.
I don’t know how anyone manages to actually beat this game. At first I thought to myself, when I kept stalling on level 29 (when I actually managed to get there), “this is the final level.”
Then I beat it. Oh, I beat it. I didn’t even get time warnings. I got to level 32. A chorus of angels sang … “out of time”. BUGGER!
Got 1.4 million that game.
Now … I had a game for the ages (other than the game where I got 23K in the first level. Yes, you read that right, the FIRST level. I haven’t gotten more than 8K since). I’m just gonna quote some numbers here:
Score: 2.4 million
Coins collected: 2398 (not my best ever … I got almost 2600 once)
Largest Rocket Launch: 6 (I set off 8 once. The bonus doesn’t get bigger than 2.5K)
Most tiles used: 37 (I was able to set off all but one a few days ago. Also launched 7 rockets in the process)
Gems: 88
Clocks: 65 (this is a big part of how to get past level 31. I got so many clocks one round that the timer only got halfway down)
BTW, for anyone still playing, a few big tips:
Launch 4 or more at a time for coins and a nice bonus.
Then get all the coins in as few launches as possible.
Try to leave one launch at the end so you can get, like, 4 for one. Gets you a lot more points and you start out the next round with coins.
Max your rockets out ASAP. I’ve gotten scores of 100K+ in the 7th level by doing this. I’m also getting to the point where my rockets are all maxed before level 17.
If you can connect a score2 or score3 to a multiple launch, DO IT. You can get … 48K by getting a score*2 and *3 connected to a 4-rocket launch (if the rockets are level 10). Sacrifice a fifth rocket to get that score multiplier unless you have no time left.
Don’t be afraid to start a new game if you don’t have lots of multi-pronged pieces right beside your rockets. I usually see four or five layouts in the beginnings of my games before I get one that I like, which usually allows me to set off 5 or six rockets. Then I do two launches to get coins and finish off with a 4 or 5 launch. Best way to get a high score is to have high-level rockets in the beginning.
