Since I didn’t want to crash Little Bird’s thread, here’s yet another wedding one. My sister got married today, and I’m just back home from “old folk wrangling”. Yes, I was the DD for three of the octogenarians attending. Not that they drank much, but better me to drive them home in the dark
It was a great ceremony, at least from my point of view - 20 minutes from start to finish, and a Minister who spoke to both cultures. Too bad I’m working when the Hindu ceremony is, because I’d like to be there too. Just in case they ever read this, I’d like to say again, have a great life together Lisa and Ravi! Don’t worry, I’ll feed the cat when you’re away
Also, as an aside for those planning weddings, who are looking for a variation on “the kissing game” that doesn’t require clinking glasses or embarrasing your guests, here’s a suggestion. Have a jar set up at the front of the room, and get your MC to tell everybody that a donation to (charity of your choice) will result in a kiss. Let me tell ya, 300 bucks to the CNIB and probably chapped lips later, my sister and new brother in law’s caring and thoughtfulness had me in tears.
I’m damn happy to have you both in my life, and in my family.
