Anslinger's gravesite

The search function won’t let me search, so I just have to hope that this hasn’t been asked a million times.

Where is Harry Anslinger buried? I’m sure millions of potheads with full bladders would love to know.

You’re out of luck. No grave to pee on.

He was cremated in 1962, and in 1969 members of the Yippie party secured his cremains and gradually used them up in the bowl of a water-pipe over the course of three years to facilitate the smoking of hash oil.*

*This is a lie.

How much of it was a lie?

The hash oil thing strikes me as too much poetic justice for the Universe to contain, sort of like the Robert Romano Gay Lesbian and Transgendered Community Outreach Center.

But was he really creamated? Is there truly no pissoir…er… gravestite?

A total lie, although my best guess is that he was cremated.

If he has a place of internment, it’s been a buried secret for more than forty years.

Given the amount of vandalism that a plot would likely attract, and that he has no one to pay for its upkeep, it’s unlikely that a gravesite would be maintained.

I will make no puns on “Potter’s field.”

Okay, but these are the famoutt teeming millions. Some few of them will have the answer that I seek.

I have found out that he died in 1975 in Pennsylvania. Still no obituary or gravesite.

famous, damnit, famous

Apparently, it’s in Hollidaysburg PA. I don’t know which cemetery yet, but it sounds like a good excuse for a road trip.

Yes I know I’m resurrecting a terribly old thread, but this brings back a funny memory…

I went to college at Penn State and was very good friends with a girl who had a photo snipped out of a local paper… it was her sitting on Harry Anslinger’s grave while smoking a blunt. If I remember correctly, she told me it was this graveyard:

In General Questions, it’s OK as long as you’re adding information, something substantial.

He is burried in Hollidaysburg P.a @ the Presbeterian*sp cemetary located in the one a user posted above from go0gle maps and here’s best way i can explain how to find his gravestone… If you are parked under the very old open airy barn type building looking down into the cemetary, walk left to the row against the trees, closest to the road though, he’s right there not more than 40 steps from the barn type thing, not a large stone, just stands about 1 foot up outta the ground and near a few trees.I know this because i was born there and we still go there and blaze @ the site.

The important thing is that he’s dead.
