As a recent arrival in the United Kingdom, I have been astounded by the pofusion of signs stating that “This buildings/walls/shed/etc has been treated with Anti-climb paint”. For the life of me, I cannot imagine what anti-climb paint could be…
Slipery paint that cannot be climbed?
Sticky paint that traps you on the wall until the authorities arrive to arrest you?
Dyed paint that marks you for life as the type of scum who climbs walls when they shouldn’t?
Anti-Climb paint never properly dries so if you come into contact with it (by climbing a drain-pipe for instance) it gets all over your clothes and skin and it is almost impossible to shift. The company I work for uses it on lattice radio towers to deter unwanted visitors. It is of a very unpleasent, thick consistancy.
I came into contact with some by accident when I was trying to retrieve my nephews kite from a tree close by a protected fence. It is a really thick, sticky oily substance.
