How do graffiti artists get up on dangerous places?

You’ve all seen highway overpasses that have graffiti on the sides, with nothing between the side and a 20-30 foot fall down into highway traffic except one’s imagination.

How in the world do graffiti artists get up there to do their tagging and make it (sometimes) look like genuine art? They must be madmen! Tell me they use specialized climbing equipment or something.

They use specialized climbing equipment or something.

Rappelling is not difficult, and does not require expensive equipment.

If you’re young and stupid (ie: a tagger) your risk aversion is extremely low. This is the sort of thing they think of when it comes to uses for old bed sheets.
