Well you make a good point.
Israel is Palestine? What?
Well you make a good point.
Israel is Palestine? What?
You said “this is why [Jews] have no country.” Israel, last I checked, is essentially the Jewish homeland. So unless you’re being metaphorical or something, I have no idea what you meant. Maybe you don’t like the fact that they have a country there, but I don’t see how you can dispute that they have one.
In 1984 they said War was Peace… - Eternal War.
Saying anti-Semistim is something against Jews specifically is like saying…
Saying anti-World is something against Kurds specifically.
Words SHOULD HAVE MEANING.
I think you are on to something, FP is anti-semantic!
I thought you went to bleach your face.
Welcome back.
I’m pro words
You are reductivist, and against learning and words
Hey, I agree. There are lots of words that are used improperly. Your theories about why the term “anti-Semitic” - blaming it on Jews - is used the way it is don’t seem to fit the facts. Sounds like you should take it up with Wilhelm Marr.
Because he disagrees with your nitpick? That seems a bit of a big stone to be throwing.
Franklin is correct when he says that “anti-Semitic” is a somewhat ambiguous word, and that “anti-Jewish” would be a more accurate and unabiguous description of discrimination against Jews.
Franklin, yes or no: are you anti-Jewish?
Franklin, you’ve been asked twice now for cites for this statement. This is the third. Put up or shut up.
Meat, you’re asking this rhetorically, right?
Who trained you to drive an automobile and operate a typewriter? Marvelous! Next thing you know, they will dress you in a suit, and teach you flawless English! The only way we will recognize you is by the tin-foil hat!
Marley, I am attempting to convince Franklin to enjoin a debate by categorically stating his opinions rather than hiding behind distracting wordplay.
In fact, sod it; let us cut to the chase.
Franklin: Are you a Holocaust Denier?
The Definition of Anti-Semitism defines rhetoric of this debate.
Try to stay focused kids.
Given your inability to make a case or stay on topic, you might as well answer the question…
Being that the supporting thesis the to title of this debate is “Human Rights gesture”
which none of you have even cared for.
Why slam all the semitic Arabs with all the anger that gets piled up on the Jew?
Why have an innocent people, e.g. Palestinians, take the heat they don’t deserve?
Are you cruel? Because whe you say anti-semitic you are saying anti-Palestinain.
And that’s not kind.
Natalie Merchant would not approve.
Franklin, we agree that there is ambiguity in the word “Semitic”. We are now trying to ascertain your agenda regarding discrimination against Jews.
This question requires only a simple yes or no: Are you a Holocaust Denier?
Because it’s a nonsensical claim.
We’ve agreed it’s an imprecise term, are you happy now? I don’t see how it slams Arabs.
Because the night belongs to lovers
Because the night belongs to Jews…?
Marr like Barr are Jewish names.
Thank you for being on my side. Now we all can get about saving the Palestinians form the hubris of Anti-Semitism the Jews have cast on them.
~Your HAPPY HELPER
enjoy
Raises hand
There, that’s over with.
I agree with Franklin that anti-semitism is vague. I once heard Bobby Fischer tell an reporter “I’m not anti-semitic. I understand that many arab peoples are semitic in background and I don’t hate them. I only hate Jews.”
So there is a technical point there.
Whether that’s tilting at windmills is another matter.
Frankly, I’d be happier if we called jew-haters jew-haters if that’s what they prefer. I’m all about being accommodating.
Actually, this website says Marr is originally Old Norse, which I think you’ll agree is pretty non-Jewish. What’s your point anyway?
The hell with all these semitic semantics!
I’ll say you’re correct. The proper term will be “jew hater”.
Now could you let me know why “the jew must be identified?”.
Then tell me how Jews started WWI?
