Anti-vaxxers are ignorant scumbags that kill children

You are saying your child died from the flu to cover up murdering your child?

Anti-vaxxers are not only ignorant scumbags, they are also unspeaskably cruel and libelous.

Breaking news:

Let the antivax hysteria begin.

Expect references to yellow badges and other Holocaust imagery.

Haven’t heard Holocaust references yet in response to the Rockland County order, but there’s this from the antivax group Age of Autism:

“Where is the outcry that was given to Immigrant children held in detention? Where is the outcry over what are the new Jim Crow laws circa 2019? How soon before we have a knock on the door with the vaccination police demanding we hand over our children?”

Um… not soon enough?

Look, the biggest problem with these anti-vaxxers is that their problems aren’t limited to just themselves - they spread disease. People spreading a preventable disease like measles is a public health issue. It’s like arguing for a freedom to suffer from cholera or dysentery, or to smear shit on the tables where other people eat in a restaurant.

Googling anti-vax led to this very funny list of Anti-vaccination celebrities

Amazing how so many of them are Scientologists!

How are they going to determine if a kid in a public place is vaccinated or not?

I didn’t know better when I told my oldest that they were opening a Wahlberger on her way home. She started ranting about “that bitch” and how she can’t be trusted near her. I didn’t understand the vitriol until the news showed Donnie Donnie with his wife, Jenny McCarthy and mentioned how they live in St Chas, IL.

Anti-vaxxers tend to out themselves:

At the first sign of Koplik spots, full-blown measles rash or any unexplained fever or malaise, the ban-hammer comes down.

Rockland County is taking this very seriously.

Before vaccinations became a common practice, there were other methods of stemming the advance of these diseases. If someone doesn’t want vaccinated, those other methods will be used, because these diseases can’t be ignored and allowed to run rampant. If you don’t like vaccination, you’re going to have to accept quarantine, and vice versa. There’s no opting out of engaging with public health, period.

Yes, who can forget the hue and cry when the Trump administration banned children from entering cages?

Holy frick. Alicia Silverstone is a proponent of babies not wearing diapers AND believes parents should pre-chew food and spit it into their babies’ mouths. I can’t help wondering how much of these anti-vax, anti-sense celebrity exhortations are yet more oneupmanship.

The “pre-chew food and spit it into baby’s mouth” actually has a long history - what do you think people did before there were food processors? It’s how hunter-gathers feed their infants and toddlers during weaning, and a lot of early agricultural societies.

But yeah, in our society it’s a bit weird.

I was an adult before my mother got a food processor and she did not pre-chew my food.

And then there’s Bill Shine’s wife, Darla, who thinks getting childhood diseases is a great thing.

The above link is to a news story of a child taken into state custody because it was believed he had an illness that was life threatening and the parents would not take him to the hospital. Police had to break into the home as the parents would not respond. It also so happens the kid was not vaccinated and the mother had feared repercussions if she took the kid to the ER. He had a high fever.

Yeah, well, like I said, the pre-chewing thing is not a part of our culture.

Whattya mean? Pre-Chew Charlies.

I take a class one evening a week. One of my classmates was absent last week - his wife had died of the flu. Just tragic.

I had my flu shot this year, as always. It’s so easy for people to not be cognizant that even if we’re willing to risk catching the flu ourselves, we’re also risking the lives of everyone we unwittingly pass it along to.
