Antifa

It’s Berkeley, so they’re playing on their home court. I’d give them decent odds.

Looks like the police might be a bit more proactive this time around:

ETA: “charged with having a sign large than 30 inches by 30 inches without prior authorization”

Here is another livestream

Meanwhile on other parts of campus Wall Street Journal pages cause a panic.

Watched that live stream for a bit. I’m shocked. Shocked I tell you that BAMN and antifa haven’t engaged. Do they only attack when they have vast numerical superiority?

Maybe it’s because the police seized their M80’s this time?

Fake news! (Sad!)

Curious how this works. How do you fill an M80 with BB’s?

Not sure who Kevin G. is, myself. Do you have a cite for his journalism credentials?

No. I have no idea who he is or if he’s correct or not.

So far it’s actually more on the inspiring side of things. Lots of advocates for free speech, some people having a rather civil back-and-forth about illegal immigration.

There’s a heavy police presence keeping the anti-Trump / Antifa side and the pro-Trump / Coulter side away from each other.

“Recognizing and securing” is NOT the same thing as “creating”.

The U.S. Constitution does not grant any rights, it prevents the government from infringing on the rights we already have.

The right of the people…shall not be infringed.

this is a decent conversation. I just don’t see how it got mixed up in this ANTIFA THREAD.

It seems to me that it is being asserted that various governmental groups (in the form of University staff) are being pressured (by threats of vandalism and violence) into denying speaking venues to certain guests.

So… just how important is this “free speech” right? Where does it stem from? How much should the government try to accommodate it?

 French protesters, better at rioting than American protesters since … well … pretty much always.

I suspect that throwing firebombs at people here would be met with a lethal force response.
