Any americans out there that would re-elect GWB?

For the americans in the crowd. Would you re-elect this guy?

I’ll vote for anyone that can credibly promise to reduce government spending significantly, and has a plan not only for what they’ll cut, but how they’ll get it past Congress.

I’m not sure you can re-elect a guy who was never elected in the first place.

Personally, I would vote for a chicken salad sandwich before I’d vote for Bush.

Same here, and I’m allergic to chicken salad.

I’m sure there’s folks out there who’d put him back in office, given the chance. But then even Dracula has his supporters.

Apos,

Does that mean you would vote for GWB or wouldn’t?

Isn’t this more of an IMHO type question?

What’s to debate?

I’m not sure what you are saying here. Do you think George Bush has done this? If so, could you please provide examples where he has
a. reduced government spending significantly
(I’m dubious due to the creation of things like the Department of Homeland Security, for example)
b. the budget plan that show reduction in government spending (not forgetting the additional 75 billion he needs to add in for this war)
c. How he plans to get it past congress. (It seems they are somewhat reluctant, especially with this ongoing war).

Thanks.

I would vote for Bush just because he is strong in a time when we need let therest of the world know how strong we can be. The rest of the world might not like us but they will respect us or else.

Bush won by the rules that were in place before the election. In all other close elections in florida chads weren’t counted and that became the accepted rule in florida. Bush won both state wide machine counts machines that are not biased. Bush won the electorial college which is the rule to win the nomination. He did not win the popular vote but that is not the rule in winning Bush won.

Brilliant statement.

You have to earn respect. You can’t beat people over the head to get it.

I might, but it all depends on who the Democrats put up.

Terrifel: “But then even Dracula has his supporters.”

“I’m an impaler, not a divider.”

<ducks>

The Bush Administration Foreign Policy in a nutshell.

or else what, our arrogance will lead to retaliation in the form of daily suicide bombings in major cities in the US?

—Does that mean you would vote for GWB or wouldn’t?—

I’d have to know his opponent to judge. I might not vote for him simply because I feel his positions on various social issues are immoral. But it depends on what he can credibly promise as far as the government goes. He certainly HASN’T followed through on most of the campaign promises that were important to me.

I didn’t vote for him the first time.

However, if this conflict in Iraq is still going on come the next election (I doubt it, but hey, you never know), I’d probably vote for him–because changing leaders in the middle of a war just strikes me as a bad idea. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s just my opinion. Besides, he can’t serve more than one more term. I could live with my decision knowing that.

I certainly would consider voting for him, but it depends on who else is running.

You can’t re-elect a man who was never elected in the first place.

Oderint Dum Metuant?

The only case in which I could say “yes definitely” would be if Gore ran against him again; which dems assure me will not happen since Gore will stick by his promise to sit out until 2008.

I voted for Bush last time, and I still think he was the better option, but I’m less than thrilled by his leadership. Sure, it’s better than having Clinton in office, but not by much. If another Republican seems like a strong contender in 2004, I would probably vote for him or her over Bush. (Hell wouldn’t have to freeze over for me to vote for a dem, but they’d have to be a decided cold front)

I sure would! Although, Dick Gephardt seems to be the ideal president (I know that’s weird for a democrat).
