Any Bobby Sherman Fans?

I was in the used CD store and I picked up two Bobby Sherman CDs, they were re-issues of his old 70s albums.

They were cheap so I bought them and boy is he mediocre. I only remember a few songs by him like “Little Woman,” “Easy Come, Easy Go,” “Julie, Do You Love Me,” and of course “Seattle” (Which I don’t think he did as a single.)

But boy is he mediocre

OK I can understand his appeal, he was quite a nice looking young man, so I see how young girls bought his records, but his voice. OK he’s not even average.

OK enough of this, my question to ladies and any gents, are there any Bobby Sherman fans left in the world?

And don’t let my bad review discourage you. I’m sure I’m missing something  (And I"m a gay male)

Marge Simpson: When I was your age, I had the biggest crush on Bobby Sherman.
Lisa Simpson: HA! HA! HA! Bobby Sherman??!!
Marge Simpson: (annoyed) mmmmnnnnn.

I’ve only heard the song “Julie, Do You Love Me?”, and that was because it was part of a “Hits of the Seventies” collection I bought. Yup, pretty mediocre.

Wasn’t he on a TV show?

The bluest skies you ever seen…

OMG! The very first concert I ever went to was Bobby Sherman! (I was about 8 or 9- my dad took me, my cousin and my bestest friend. He was a GOOD dad!)

The first record album that was MINE was ‘Here Comes Bobby!’. The album cover was a tri-fold kinda thing that was a full length picture of him, wearing a fringed grey shirt and jeans.

Not too long ago, I was in WalMart, and they played ‘Julie Do You Love Me’ on their playlist. It stopped me in my tracks and I was suddenly 9 years old again, grinning ear to ear.

But yeah, my adult ear agrees- mediocre.

Oh my GOD, thank you for that! That show was a favorite of mine and I’d forgotten all about it. Boy did that bring back some memories. Not about the actual episodes but my raging crush on the oldest brother, played by Robert Brown. All my classmates were googooing over Bobby Sherman or David Soul, but I only had eyes for Robert. I guess I generally went for the more rugged type. Now I see his hair was pretty big, but it was his face that did it for me. I can’t find any good pictures though.

What - no love for Hello Mr. Sun?
Boy, could that man wear a choker! :stuck_out_tongue:

I came in specifically to mention the choker!

Considering how much of a crush I had on him when I was. . .seven (???) I can’t remember what he sounded like or a single thing he sang(but I sure remember the choker). I do remember he had a show and it was either a spinoff from The Partridge Family or he made a guest appearance on TPF after his show had already started. And I think he had a sidekick named Lionel. Does anyone else remember this?

I now blame you for Easy Come Easy Go being my earworm. You are on my list.

I had a huge crush on bobby Sherman when I was in 6-8th grade. Of course I had every issue of Tiger Beat and 16 with him on the cover. Stashed under my bed so I could pull them out right before lights out and gaze at his face. Had all his albums. My parents took me and 2 friends to see him at MilwaukeeFest. Had a giant poster of him on my closet door. The show he was on that spun off the Partridge Family was “Getting Together” also starring Wes Stern as Lionel. One of them couldn’t write lyrics and the other couldn’t write music but together they made a fantastic team. Several years ago I saw his autobiography in a bookstore but neglected to buy it. I do regret that.

Anywho, I heard “Little Woman” on the radio a few weeks ago and my exact thought was “what a mediocre singer.” But he was cute and is a nice guy. He hasn’t had to work since he “retired from show biz” but is a volunteer EMT and has been for years. I do believe he is also a grandfather.

Why do I know so much about Bobby Sherman???

I read the first two posts and then was disheartened when I realized we weren’t talking about Alan Sherman.

I’m not a fan, but that reminds me of one of the first questions I ever asked here, in the dawn of the post-AOL board. It was a question about a song lyric, which turned out to be by Bobby Sherman.

Not a big fan, but I was the proud recipient of one of his songs via the back of a Post Raisin Bran box back when I was a little whippersnapper. The song was etched into the cardboard box. You had to cut it out of the box with scissors, puncture the center so it would fit onto your turntable, and voila! Instant music.

Bet you whippersnappers have never gotten a David Archuleta song off the back of a Raisin Bran box!

Back to Bobby Sherman. He was also Jeremy Bolt on the show “Here Come the Brides!” He was supposed to be the heart throb of the show, but I preferred his older brother. I’ve always preferred masculine men vs. the Bobby Sherman/Brad Pitt/Sean Cassidy type men. They’re too squirrelly for my taste.

Sorry for the hijack, but in O.A.R.'s song “Shattered”, every time Marc Roberge sings “Turn the car around”, I think he sounds like Bobby Sherman.

So I’ve heard.

That’s how impressed I was by it: I remember it 35 years later!

I also remember Elvis’ “Moody Blues” album. The record itself was blue. Very pretty.

Zac Efron stoled his haircut

I like Bobby Sherman and I don’t care who knows it.

It was like stepping into a time machine.

It was very cool.

I was always partial to Bridget Hanley myself.

Yes, I remember it. It was called Getting Together.
