I am indulging in another one of my weird food things, and wondered if anybody else does it.
I buy a stick of summer sausage, which I love on crackers with cheese and good mustard. But I always take about half the stick and cut it thin and just put it on a plate in the fridge. It dries out, but has so much fat it’s not “dry” dry. The flavors condense and it’s gets chewy tough in a yummy flavorful way And it’s probably cheaper per pound than actual store bought beef jerky.
Pork sausage jerky is never as good sausage started out, pepperoni was disappointing. But beef sausage jerkies great.
Anybody else do it?
