The USAToday has a monthly Cartoon Caption contest (via Facebook) that they say the winners will receive $250. However, after one reads down to the bottom of the rules, one learns that their idea of payment is to give the winner a signed copy of the cartoon, not actual dollars! (It rather stinks that a big moneyed outfit like that would be so cheap and, in my view, deceptive.:mad:)
Anyway, I’ve done a fair amount of Googling and haven’t been able to find any outfit, magazine or newspaper where a person could participate in trying to make some dough by coming up with great captions for cartoons. Sooo might any of you knowledgeable Dopers know if there’s a legit place where one can do this sort of thing?
