During a recent (and on-going) discussion on the subject of eugenics, my friend and I debated the pros and cons of “thinning the herd”. She mentioned that there was a word or term used by cowboys and ranchers to describe a cow of such poor quality that removing it from the herd was necessary. We cannot come up with it. What, Oh Sagely Dopers, might that word or term be? Any ideas? BTW, my friend believes that the first letter of the word is “c”.
