Any Etsy tips?

I’ve been buying stuff on Etsy for a while, but after posting my first item for sale a few days ago (an end table I made), I’m getting no views at all. Well, I have two views, and one of them was my wife.

When I opened my shop they were pushing me to use their extra fee promotion stuff, but I figured I’d see how things went without it. Is this the way to go?

I’ve never sold anything through etsy, but purchase through the site frequently.

An end table is not something I’d think of etsy for first for two reasons. I’d want to see/feel the finish in person and I think the shipping would be prohibitive.

I guess that’s the opposite of tips. Also, I don’t know if I’m a typical etsy shopper.

Some people sell hand-crafted furniture that’s heavier than an end table on Etsy, so I don’t think that would be a problem.

Are you on Facebook? There are several Facebook Etsy communities, and you might get pointers there. I’ve bought things on Etsy, but only small items like jewelry. My favourite seller on Etsy has sold over 3000 items. She did a lot of networking at first, joining groups, I’m not sure exactly how. Her name on Etsy is Waterwaif, so if you search Etsy for that name, you’ll hit her space and you can contact her. She may have suggestions. Good luck!

Etsy is a really big place, so it can be hard to get your items found. This is a pod resource for a starting place: http://kurbuhaun.com/seo-for-etsy-easy-step-by-step-guide-that-really-works/
