I own and love my Slingbox. I watch it using the SlingPlayer software on my various computers and my iPod Touch. I see that Sling produced a piece of hardware called a SlingCatcher as the SlingBox’s opposite number, a piece of equipment to view the video being captured by the Slingbox at another location without a computer, hooking the SlingCatcher to a TV or projector, and transmitting IR commands as well to the Slingbox.
For some reason, probably threat of lawsuit by the huge media companies, the SlingCatcher is no longer available in the “land of the free”. But it is available in the UK.
The UK uses PAL video, but a huge percentage of UK digital video equipment is actually multi-standard. This might be as well, especially as Sling is an American company. The power supply is US compatible, and there is no indication of video format on the specs page.
