Any fans for Time for Three out there?

I just got back from seeing them in concert. Amazing!

Time for Three is three classical musicians (they played with the Philadelphia Orchestra, among other places) who perform . . . well, just about everything. Classical, rock, bluegrass, folk, and anything else. They are superb musicians and great showmen.

It’s an unusual two violins and double bass combination, but they make it work. There are gimmicks (the two violinists playing one violin, and the bassist putting it on his lap and playing it like a guitar), but it’s really all about their music. Tonight, they included things like “Blackbird,” “Orange Blossom Special” (of course), Brahm’s “Hungarian Dance,” “Ashokan Farewell,” Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and several originals mixing jazz, classical, and bluegrass. They call themselves a “classically trained garage band.”

If you get a chance to catch them, don’t miss it.

Is anyone else familiar with them? They located in the Philadelphia area.
