I’ve missed so many good concerts this year: Reverend Horton Heat, Weezer, the Raveonettes, the Decemberists, Rilo Kiley, Flogging Molly… it drives me crazy thinking about it. But I did get to see Southern Culture on the Skids, Jonathan Richman, the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars, and Social Distortion, so that’s something. The Detroit Cobras are playing here next week, and I think I’d like to go check them out. I like the few songs I’ve heard from them, but I was wondering if any Dopers were fans, or had recommendations to make.
I have their album ‘Life, Love and Leaving’ and like it plenty. Have not seen them in concert but a co-worker has seen them twice (both times opening for Rev Horton Heat) and said they put on a great show.
Run, do not walk to this show. It’s one of the best I’ve seen in the last few years. If it’s the same tour that’s coming through Denver next month, Lou you are in for a treat. The Reigning Sound featuring Greg Cartwright from the seminal Garage band The Oblilvians is on the bill, and that is the second best show I’ve seen in the last couple of years. They will be here November 12th. I can’t wait!
