I got my Mom a new computer and a printer/scanner this Christmas, and I’m less than pleased with the software that came with it to do the scanning. You have to go to advanced setting to set the scan level higher than 300dpi for some reason, and it also doesn’t have any control over jpeg compression of the final image.
Is there any free software out there that might be better?
Here is what I was able to find:
Scandy - Free and allows for image compression, but it’s purpose is to scan images for e-mail. It doesn’t say if it will allow you to save the images you scan.
