Agreed. Not a single character who was a decent human being.
Jake Peralta tones down his obnoxiousness by about 90%, which makes the show a lot more watchable, after season one. I did not find it any more cringe humor than Below Decks.
I’ll just start in on season 2 then. When I tried watching it years ago, I couldn’t stand it, but that was season 1.
I enjoyed Girls5Eva when I watched it. If you watched & enjoyed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and/or Great News, you’ll probably enjoy Girls5Eva — it shares a lot of creative DNA with those shows. To a lesser extent, it shares some DNA with 30 Rock as well. (But it’s not as good as 30 Rock, because very few things are.)
Speaking of which, watch 30 Rock if you haven’t done so. It’s available on Peacock!
30 Rock was excellent and I only had to get past the first 2-3 shows for the Cringe to reduce to an acceptable level.
They have a section for TMC movies with tons of great films. Old Johnny Carson shows, Alfred Hitchcock Hour are a couple of my faves.
Not a show, but I’m watching Halloween Ends. They have exclusive streaming rights to it and it is a theatrical release this week.
Thank you, but looking for shows, means looking for shows. You can’t watch anything on Peacock without them advertising Halloween Ends anyway.
I’m expecting to see Jamie Lee Curtis and Michael Myers duking it out in wheelchairs in some old folks’ home someday.
Mr. Mercedes is a pretty decent Stephen King adaptation. Dr. Death was a bit horrifying (as is the true story it was based on) but entertaining. Also, there is a cute show called Escape to the Chateau - I don’t usually go for DIY stuff but the couple ( a retired British Army something and his quirky wife who doesn’t wear real clothes at all in the first season, even if she’s sledgehammering a wall) are fun, the kids are cute and it’s a relaxing show to watch.
Same here. I think Andy Samberg is best enjoyed in short bursts, such as a bit on SNL.
But B99 developed into a very, very good ensemble show, and the funniest guy of them all isn’t even a comedian.
My mother is a huge fan of two of the Chicago shows on Peacock: Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. Not so much Chicago P.D..
I enjoyed Killing It and The Resort, but they’re both pretty off the wall. In Killing It, Craig Robinson and Claudia O’Doherty (who is a real standout) enter an anaconda-hunting contest and encounter some typical (?) Florida types along the way. The Resort is a mishmash dark comedy/mystery with a convoluted past/present story line that may not appeal to everyone. But it has Cristin Milioti, (who I’ll watch in almost anything), Nick Offerman and William Jackson Harper from The Good Place.
That sounds interesting. I’ll have to check it out.
The British miniseries Vigil was good.
I forgot about that one- another great show with Suranne Jones. “That” scene though… yikes.
.yeah.
John Carpenter’s Hallowheels
My bad: Caroline in the City is CBS, so that’s on Paramount+.
Sorry, I’m late again. Is this a commercial free offer? Other than live news or sports, I haven’t seen a commercial since the 1980s. I just cannot watch anything with commercials now.
