Any love for Big Bang Theory here?

Yes I did see that episode, although I have to admit I had forgotten about it until you mentioned it. Wasn’t Sheldon bedridden for most of this episode for some reason? IIRC his Mother came through for him in the end and got him his job back, is this the right episode?

The scene with Sheldon and the guy in the cafeteria was funny, if stereotypical.

I coulda told you she was a “Big old 5!”

I didn’t think tonight’s was so great either. Still funny and worth watching, but it was mostly about disheveled Penny with Cheetos in her hair and on her face. But it seemed like at the beginning of the episode they gave us EXTRA Penny cleavage to make up for the later slovenly Penny. :dubious:

This episode had me laughing out loud - something I really needed last night. Everything worked for me. I liked the various explanations for video game addiction.

I still love how true to life the computer and geek dialog is, without being insulting or just simple pandering. Except for the “in-game” footage, that wasn’t so realistic.

The cornstarch liquid/solid on the speaker, that was great, and I bet tens of thousands of people tried it as a result. Let’s hope they got the plastic wrap tightly sealed.

It probably worked so well for me since I used to play a lot of WoW, and my best in-game friends were women (albeit, married ones*) and I could picture at least one of them just totally slobbing out like that.
*Their husbands are also good in-game friends, fwiw

You make it sound like that’s a bad thing.

No, definitely not a bad thing. The wardrobe guys really know how to make her puppies look good.

Let’s hear it for Penny’s puppies! Hooray!

I’m just starting to get into this show because its on before How I met your Mother… and I catch part of it while I’m waiting… it’s quite funny.

I liked the part where Penny was approached by Howard character in the game world, and she agreed to go questing and to get a virtual drink with him. That’s when she really realized she had a problem!

Yeah, I laughed when she threw the laptop, then kicked a pillow over to cover it, with a look of disgust on her face!

Dammit, I had chemo yesterday and forgot it was on. Recap, anyone?

ivylass - for some reason CBS doesn’t put up whole shows on their website, but they do have a number of video clips you can enjoy. For a written recap try the Television Without Pity website.

Not really any advancement in Leonard/Penny storyline, it’s basically a standalone episode. Penny gets very addicted to an online game that she sees Sheldon playing. She goes to him a lot for advice. She keeps playing, lets herself go, doesn’t go to work, etc. She hits rock bottom when she almost accepts an online proposition from Howard.

TWoP doesn’t do recaps of BBT, apparently, unless I’m blind.

You appear to be right, and that suddenly makes me sad :frowning: because I’m wondering what snarky names they’d come up with for the characters and so on.

Sorry about the incorrect Television Without Pity info. I was correct about the CBS site since I’ve watched the clips when I’ve been working and unable to watch the show.

Best episode yet.

I’m not the show’s biggest fan, though I watch it.

This episode was funny, though. It’s about the most human everyone in the show has ever appeared, strange as that seems.

Sheldon and the guy in the cafeteria was funny. It struck me that Sheldon was perfectly aware of how the conversation was coming across, yet dismissed his ignorant, presumptuous friends anyway. Not sure how that worked out for him, though.

First time I’ve thought Penny was a real person at all.
