Any N64 games I cna't be without?

Mundane question really, but now that Nintendo is gearing up for the Gamecube and everyone else wants a PS2 (why?) there’s a steady stream of cheapish 2nd hand games doing the rounds and I’d like to pick up a few good 'uns to justify purchasing the N64. I don’t like sport and I’m not really into puzzles (GB Tetris is all I need,) so what is worth picking up (that I may not even have heard of?)

Goldeneye and a friend are all you need.

I like Super Smash Bros., and the Star Wars flight sims are great fun…

Any of the ArmyMen games are top-shelf. Very clever, lots of fun, pretty addicting.

 Crap but you’re fast, I’d only just posted seconds before!
Perhaps I should clarify details and say I’ve picked up; Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Zelda Majoras Mask, Donkey Kong 64, Pilot Wings, Body Harvest and F Zero. I’m really undecided on the rest of the games out there so I’m looking for advice.

You should really give the following a try :

Mario’s World
The Legend of Zelda
Banjo/Kazooie
Top Gear Rally
Perfect Dark

Besides the ones mentioned, Rayman 2 is a lot of fun, and The World Is Not Enough is pretty good as well.
I’ve been meaing to rent Conker’s Bad Fur Day to see if that’s any good.

Colonoscopy Challenge was awesome! Guide your scope up the entire length of the bowel, avoid getting twisted or kinked, biopsy all lesions, remove polyps, and watch out for perforations and Code Brown!!! My character name in that one was “Terms of Enrearment”

QtM

I really must second any of the Zelda games, as well as pretty much any Mario games. With a few exceptions (Yoshi’s Story anyone?), first-party games for this system tend to be absolutly killer titles.

I like Perfect Dark even more than Goldeneye, myself. It’s the same engine, but they worked a lot of the kinks out of it for PD. Also, I love Joanna’s voice and find Elvis amusing.

Qaddy, are you sure that was a game? You’re not a proctologist by chance, are you?

Goldeneye Goldeneye Goldeneye. Need I say more ok get “The World is Not Enough” but only after you get Goldeneye.

Bah, enough Bond knock-offs. If you’re going to play a first-person shooter, do it right and get a PC. Or a clock tower…

Harvest Moon 64. 'nuff said.

The New Tetris is essential if you like puzzle games or the other Tetrises. Its not different, just new funky backgrounds.

There are many scenes in that game that are parodies, of sorts, of A Clockwork Orange, especially the opening title scene. Conker has to drink “special alcoholic milk” to keep his energy up. It’s not a game for kids.

My favorite games are Mario Kart 64 and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. I love racing games.

I think that Duke Nuke 'em Zero Hour is a great game…

is Conker’s bad fur day fun?

Turok and Turok 2. 'nuff said.

As a side note, DO NOT under any circumstances get Turok 3.

Wayne Gretzgy Hockey- oh man the checking in that game!
Cruisin the USA/World-fun fun fun!

I must side with the Rare FPS titles as the absolute best any console has to offer, though Goldeneye’s multiplayer is still more addictive than PD’s to me.

The tetris where you build different civilizations’ structures is killer, and adds a GREAT twist with the addition of “squares.”

the Dr Mario is also a nicely revamped version of the classic puzzle game… sigh, if only capcom would release super puzzle fighter 2 turbo for every system.

The first and second turoks are excellent, and the third is ok but don’t expect it to be in the same vein as the first two.

The star Wars Pod Racer is great, great fun.

Sadly, however, I know of no good RPG style game, though I hear harvest moon is the way to go from many people and gaming mags.

GET BOTH ZELDAS. they are truly masterpieces. the first does a startling job of translating the feel of the original NES version of Zelda 1 into 3D. i am still amazed at that. The second one has a pretty damn unique method of play that was at once wonderfully frustrating and unexpectedly rich, but even at that a little dissappointing (I wa hoping for more uses for all the masks). but I think it is a truly exciting experience.

Man, what nintendo loses in volume it MOE than makes up for in great gameplay. Here’s to hoping the Gamecube keeps up the tradition!
