So I plan on watching my first episode of this show tonight.
I’m not sure how many seasons this show has been on but up until about a month ago it’s pretty much slipped under my radar. Recently, I’ve been noticing commercials for this show that has sparked my interest.
Just wondering what peoples opinions are of the show. Also, for the avid fans out there: If you could clue me in on any of the basics I might need to know to make the show more enjoyable would be appreciated.
The basics are that it’s a show about two plastic surgeons - one (Dr Sean McNamara) who tries to be a family man and keep a moral stance on his job, and the other (Dr Christian Troy) who is a polar opposite - a swingin’ ladies man who puts money first professionally. However, there’s so much more to these two main characters that sometimes it isn’t clear which one is which.
This show has been singled out by the Parents Television Council as the single worst television show on the air, and despite airing at 10PM on a cable network, they’ve repeatably tried to boycott and get it cancelled. So you know there’s a lot of juicy stuff going on. Occasionally the show tries to be so edgy that it ends up looking humorous or cheezy in the end.
Nip/Tuck is a serial show, and although it won’t do much harm to tune into the latest episode to try it out, I recommend renting the season 1 DVDs and going through it in order, as there is a lot of very strange plot and character development that spreads across seasons. It’s currently about halfway through season 4.
