When I’ve clicked on links to threads, I get the little whirly “I’m thinking” thing, and sometimes the links don’t open at all, and sometimes it opens the sticky at the top of the page?
Any one else having this?
i’ve gone to other sites and my mouse and clicking seems to be working there; just when I’m on the SDMB (and only on links to threads; no problem navigating from forum to forum.)
Using a Mac and Safari.
Viglink is probably borked again, or at least your computer to viglink’s computers is choked or broken.
If that’s what the problem is, using a script blocker or adding viglink.com to your ad blocker will get rid of the problem.
I keep getting “non responsive script” warnings. Consecutively. Like I will click “stop script” to close the box, and it will pop up again. Sometimes 3-4 times before actually letting me do anything else.
Yeah, bad script warnings here. I think there’s a bad ad.
I really don’t mind online ads. I mind online ads provided by bulk third-parties that don’t vet the crap they dump into the stream, especially ones that have ANY active component.
Yup. I’m having problems with viglink going bonkers all day.

On EVERY page I open, this has to be killed at least twice before the page can load.
I am an a Windows PC using Firefox.
I also encountered the viglink issue today and ended up blocking it.

Just to clarify: On every page of the boards.straightdope.com domain. It isn’t happening on any other web site.

Let me pile on. Some script is attempting to run, even though I am logged in. Can’t click thread links, and if I scroll down, half the page is whitespace. Only at SDMB, no other website.
Adding the following line to my hosts file fixed the problem:
0.0.0.0 cdn.viglink.com
I’m a member and shouldn’t see ads, but I’m still running into this issue. Windows 10, tried Edge, IE, and Chrome FTR.
It sound like something beyond a bad ad is causing this…
Had the same problem here. Didn’t go away until I specifically blocked the script.
My understanding is that Viglink still runs if you’re a member. It’s just not supposed to do its ad stuff. It still does the tracking.
This happens to me, but corrects itself after a second or two.
I’m always game for a decent dog-pile …“http;//cdn.viglink.com/api/vglnk.js:19” is the culprit … but replace the semi-colon with a normal colon
Whatever it is, it’s frakking annoying. I’m about to demand my money back!
It’s even messed up on my Android tablet. No hosts file 
I’m getting “unresponsive script” on every forum page (usually twice), but not on thread pages. I’ve told it to “stop script” in every case, because really, these scripts are always bad news of some sort or another. I’m not seeing any ads, which are the usual culprit.
