Any plans for Leap Day?

I realize I’m a little bit early, but I was glancing over next year’s calendar and noticed that Leap Day* falls on a Friday in 2008. Great excuse for a party, eh? Maybe I’ll work on a Dope Fest for that evening.

At any rate, I’m just wondering if any of you do anything to signify Leap Day, either out of tradition or just for fun. And if you haven’t in the past, will you this year? Also, are there any general traditions associated with Leap Day?

    • I discovered while searching for similar threads that there is some dispute about when Leap Day actually is, but I mean February 29th by my statement.

It’s my boyfriend’s birthday. He’ll be, what, seven?

First, I’m going to look. Then, I’m going to _____!

You know, I’m guessing that for the “On This Day In History” sorts of things people like to read on their birthdays, the list is significantly smaller for people like your boyfriend.

Roughly a fourth of the size of everybody else’s, one would imagine.

Play the saxophone?

I’ll be recuperating from my first root canal. The root canal is scheduled for the 28th, and going by various experiences from other people, thought it might be a good idea to take Friday off as well-just in case.

It will be my first wedding anniversary and the husband and I are wanting to do a vows-renewal

I’ll be spending it with my mom. She is coming out to visit for a week. (Anyone that remembers me talking about my family knows this is a huge deal and a large step forward in our relationship)

So you were married in 1996?

My guess would be 2004.

:smack:

I’ll be seeing Regina Spektor in concert in Atlanta.

Not to worry, you just leaped over 2 of them.

No, just one.

2000 is divisible by 400, which makes it an exception to '00 rule

I think that one of the local musical companies is doing performances of **The Pirates of Penzance ** around then. Clearly the performance on Friday 29 February would be the ideal one to attend.
