You have absolutely without a doubt got to drop everything and rush right out and play “Vagrant Story.” Square has really outdone themselves this time with this game. It is a wonderful combination of Action game and RPG, with just a hint of block pushing puzzle for the hell of it. Imagine if you will Zelda 64 meets Parasite Eve and you’re on the right track.
BTW, I saw Jethro Tull in concert last night…wow that Ian Anderson still blows a mean flute.
after seeing the metal gear solid 2: sons of liberty trailer, other games don’t excite me anymore. they can try their darndest, but they will still be lame compared to MGS2.
Yeah, we have a PSX here… but I’m too busy playing Snood, and Obfusciatrist is too busy playing Nethack.
Anyone played medevil II yet? I absolutely loved the first one, I played it for a year and never lost interest. The right twist of a good story, less than insane difficulty, and British humor made it an excellent game.
BTW if someone wants to borrow Medievil I have a copy I am not playing, and would be willing to send it to ya
My roomie, (the real junkie) has broken two controllers on “VS”, he does however swear to “WildArms” both one and two. What I mean by “broken” is that he becomes so frustrated he throws stuff. It is a bad habit. As far as PS goes, I can recommend “Syphon Filter” both one and two, as well as FILA (I am not a soccer fan, but this is fun), and “Pong” - damned creative.
My BF is working on Wildarms 2 right now. It’s pretty ok. My favorite games though are Final Fantasy 7&8
just wondering, but what makes you like syphon filter more than metal gear? maybe you don’t, but i just assumed you do by your recommendation.
syphon filter is simple gameplay with a lame story. it’s fun, sure, but it’s not even on the same field as metal gear.
Guess Ill have to wait for FF9 with the Dreamcast 2

No need to fear guys. FF9 will be playable on the current Playstation. It is scheduled for release in America Sometime in October. Curiously, the PS2 should be coming out around that time as well.
As to the OP, thanks monkeylucifer. I’ve only heard good things about Vagrant Story. Now if you could just lend me the money. I’m a little short this month…
Rent it and I guarantee you that you’ll find a way to get the money. You’ll be at the plasma clinic in like, five minutes.
As for the MGS sequel, I know that this is considered sacrilege, but I am not really that interested. I thought that MGS was bogged down by too many cut scenes, and the action was fairly skimpy for such a hyped up game. The worst part of the game HAD to be the Psycho Mantis level, where you had to switch controllers to beat him. That was just plain stupid. I agree with the recommendation of Syphon Filter, but I have yet to play it’s sequel. Syphon Filter’s level of action was everything I felt MGS should have been…especially the amount of stealth involved.
Anyhoo…I am stuck on Vagrant Story right now, and I have to get back and try and slay that damn wyvern. Maybe I just need to break down all my weapons and try and make some new ones again…hhhhmmmmm
