Any Pro Wrestling Fans in the Audience? (Multiple promotions) (Part 2)

Gunther regained the World Heavyweight Title from Jey Uso in the main event of tonight’s RAW.

It was a good match. Before the match, I thought that Jey was absolutely going to retain. As the match went on, it could have gone either way. Also, it was nice to have a match come to a decisive conclusion with no outside interference or other shenanigans.

I couldn’t watch RAW after CM Punk’s promo. He’s no longer the young rebellious iconoclast, and him saying “I work for these good people” and gesturing to the audience almost made me blow chunks.

I know what attracts wrestling audiences nowadays is the acrobatics and flips, but I’ve grown bored of it. I prefer the big slabs of meat slugging it out like Oba Femi and Jasper Troy last night on NXT. I want to see Lash Legend wreck shit like the female Godzilla she is. Having them attempt the acrobatic shit is like watching hippos in tutus. Just let them go Kamala.

Liv Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder during her match with Kairi Sane on RAW.

And UGH Goldberg came back and challenged Gunther for Saturday Night’s Main Event.

I was surprised Asuka won, just because of the way the women’s booking has been going. Still, a pleasant surprise. As for Kairi, this was supposed to be Liv Morgan getting back her win, for sure. Kairi pinned her a few weeks ago. And yeah…Goldberg. Would have much preferred if Gillberg marched out. Why WWE? Obviously, Bill wants a paycheck. But is he going to get more subscribers? Fill any more seats? Just…why?

The most obnoxious use of Goldberg was during Drew McIntyre’s second reign as WWE Champion, as a babyface.

It was during a Retro Edition of RAW in which they brought back some of the legends, including Mark Henry, who was actually using a walker.

Randy Orton spent the entire show disrespecting some of the legends that came out, and threatening to beat them up, including Henry. It was sad to see, considering that the man who once inducted people into the Hall of Pain was now disabled.

At the climax of the show, Goldberg came out and said he was sick of the disrespecting of the legends by… Drew McIntyre. He challenged him for the belt at the Royal Rumble.

It’s like, bitch, if you want a title shot, just fucking say so.

Fuck Bill Goldberg.

I can predict the Oldberg vs. Gunther match. Oldberg falls asleep but not from the Sleeper hold.

I hope Oldberg doesn’t suffer a concussion during the match that finally forces him to RETIRE.

The problem is, if Goldberg keeps getting cheered the way he did in Green Bay, they’ll keep wheeling him out from time to time.

Well, Sami lost the semifinal match to Randy Orton, so the story I thought they were telling isn’t happening (Sami winning KOTR, beating Gunther and being cashed in on by Seth, and then chasing Seth until beating him at WrestleMania 42).

The Cena/R-Truth match ended in a disqualification, CM Punk came down to try and help R-Truth, and got put through a table.

And then Cena cut a Pipe Bomb promo on Punk. It was glorious.

This article reminded me of a discussion @Smapti and I had a while back, on whether Freddie Prinze Jr. was actually worth a shit (for the wrestling bidness). It seems he was.

so anything interesting going on in wwe i dont know about ? or corny get int a rage over something interesting ? i haven’t watched wither since wm so …

Haven’t listened to Corny’s rants in a long time. Burnout I guess.

WWE has got so many hooks in other feds like Evolve, TNA, AAA, etc. NXT used to be considered a farm league, but now it’s got its own farm league. There’s too much to keep track of, but the young cocky douchebag heel team of Swipe Right stands out. I’m kind of “eh” about RAW and SD, since there’s so much talent bloat.

OK, I actually liked that Logan Paul segment. He went all meta and essentially projected all his criticisms onto Jelly Roll. I cracked up at “Not in front of these fans, with their tattoos of the children they don’t have custody of!” Then he peevishly destroyed JR’s band set and screamed “Oopsie!”

Solo Sikoa called his guys his MFT’s. What does that mean?

It stands for My Family Tree. That’s the name of his new Bloodline-adjacent stable.

Adam Cole has been stripped of the AEW TNT Championship due to injury ahead of his title defense at All In against Kyle Fletcher.

And the title will be up for grabs in a Fatal Four Way match not involving Fletcher. Makes perfect sense.

Never mind. It does involve Fletcher. The recapper just said Guevara twice.

Dustin Rhodes won the TNT Championship at All In. He’s now a triple-champion, also holding ROH’s World Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Team Titles.

Naomi jumped Jade Cargill at Saturday Night’s Main Event, so it was announced that Bianca Belair would be the special guest referee for their match at Evolution. Good, because Bianca’s absence from the card was glaring.
