Geordi did have a lady friend. Watch the movie, they tell me.
Worf, professional? Like William Bonney was professional, maybe. ^:)^ “Let’s behave professionally! Right here, right now!”

Reggie “Brocolli” Barclay was a great character. Finally, someone not so confident, not so gifted even, and he shows all around him “a little bit about life.” (wipes away a tear…) His transporter psychosis was great.
As far as the Kirk / Spock / McCoy trio, I realy can’t remember any show, sci-fi or not, that had such a well done trio interplay. I think even The Great Bird Of The Galaxy was impressed with how that turned out.
to meateatingflora : Yeah, as soon as they gave Geordi blue eyes… “I’m not like other boys!” (gratuitous Thriller reference)
It’s not that I’m a fan of STNG, it’s that I’m hopelessly addicted to it. Damn you, TNN!!! I’ve lost many a Friday evening and Sunday afternoon watching ep after ep and not tiring of it.
The only eps that I really can’t stomach much are the Klingon-themed ones, especially where they are on the Klingon home world. The next time you see one of those shows, count the number of times that Klingons say “I am Klingon!!” Do those Klingons have an inferiority complex or what??!!
All-time favorite episode is “Family” where JLP goes back to France and Worf’s parents visit the Enterprise. I’m sure many other Trekkers gag at this one because it is “touch-feely”, but I think this one is as fine a performance from Patrick Stewart and Micheal Dorn as I’ve seen. I hated it in “Generations” where they killed JLP’s brother and nephew–I felt it was gratuous and a cheap plot point. Anyhoo…
Hard to pick a favorite character, but I truly despise Deanna Troi. Maybe it’s because my husband has an ex girlfriend who looks just like her, but it’s mainly because she is a whining spoiled brat daddy’s girl crybaby. Can’t stand the woman!!! Why oh why was she not on the away team from which Tasha Yar did not return??
Riker: “Troi, you’re on the away team with me to the tar thingie.”
Troi: “Will, I sense…I have to go wash my hair. Take Tasha.”
Tasha; “Tar is cool.”
I always enjoyed the episode “Offspring.”
Yeah, NexGen is a pretty great series. First Contact was right up there with Wrath of Khan too.
It isn’t obvious? It sort of means oppressively disappointing, tiresome, or otherwise fruitless.
You know, something that makes you go “Ack!”
Here’s an example of something blucky:
Clear?
Kn(hoping Enterprise shapes up, because I really * want * it to be as lovable as TNG)ckers
Man oh man, I remember those first season shows…
I was selling computers, vcr’s, oriental rugs, beds, and misc consumer electronics at a fairly high scale dept store (I know, oxymoron), and the discussions we had about this new Star Trek! Whew! (* “You sniveling piss head! Picard is a wuss!” “Oh yeah, you Wesley? You probably liked TMP!” “I am not a Wesley!” “Saltsucker!” “Redshirt!” *)
All true fans are also NitPickers. Check this out:
gotta reads dem buks, y’all.
Is that anyway for one Dem to talk to another?
I’ll turn you into the Republicans when they come to take us away.
Besides, you missed the Trek reference from “The Voyage Home”,
Kn(Firefly Head)ckers.
:wally
I always liked ST/THG, better than the Original ST, and I hated DS9, I liked Voyager, not sure about Enterprise.
Anyway, I always liked Capt. Picard - that’s a Captain.
Hated Captain Kirk.
Not sure about CDR. Sisko.
Liked Captain Janeway.
Not sure about the Enterprise Capt.
Liked Data and Lore.
Liked Worf / also liked him with Deanna Troi,
always wondered how it would be if they had children - 1/2 Klingon, 1/4 Beta-Zoid, 1/4 Human.
A Klingon - who can sense feelings.
Always Liked Q. Thought he was a good foil for Picard.
Liked Ro Laren / wished she would have went to Voyager.
Hated La Forge.
Hated Wesley Crusher.
Hated Dr. Pulaski and Dr. Crusher.
I liked the EMH Dr. on Voyager better.
My favorite episode was the show were the Borg takes Picard and Assimilates him into Locutus of Borg.
That’s CAPTAIN Sisko, fella!
The episode with the “four lights” was “Chains of Command”–I’m reasonably sure of the title. David Warner was wonderful as the Cardassian tormenter.
All right, some favorite moments/lines/scenes/cliches from the series:
Picard: “Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.” I say this to my microwave all the time, but nothing happens.
Picard: “MmmmmmBehvahly.”
Barclay’s Holodeck Deanna: “I am the goddess of empathy.”
One of Data’s dream episodes: he dreams of Riker and Worf eating a cake, asks what kind. Riker: “Cellular peptide cake.” Worf (with mouth full): “With mint frosting.”
The episode where Dr. Crusher is the last remaining person in the universe. Crusher: “Computer, describe the nature of the universe.” Computer: “The universe is a spherical region approximately 8 kilometers in diameter.”
The episode when Sarek’s emotional disorder was affecting the emotions of the crew, and Beverly slapped Wesley. (The whole nation cheered at that moment, I believe.)
Any episode with Luoxana Troi. I love her to death. (I’m aware that serious ST fans view Mrs. Roddenberry the same way serious Beatles fans view Yoko Ono.)
The time-loop episode with the poker game and Kelsey Grammar as the other ship’s captain.
The two episodes featuring Worf’s gf/ Alexander’s mother. “What, not even a bite on the cheek for old times’ sake?”
ST-TNG is perhaps the only TV series whose every episode I saw when originally broadcast.
Perhaps more memories later. I have to get back to pretending to be working.
Q: “Come on, Worf. Growl for me.”
I’m collecting the DVD sets right now. Season 5 just came out this week. However, I started at season 7, because before that it was fairly lame.
One of my favorite moments:
Data asks Worf to take care of his cat for a while for some reason I forget. Worf agrees, turns to the cat and says, “Spot! Come here!”
Data informs him that cats don’t obey people like that. He then asks Worf to talk to the cat, feed him, pet him, and occasionlly tell him that he’s a ‘good cat’.
Worf gives him a look and says, “I will FEED him!”
I loved the one where Picard must defend Data in a courtroom against a scientist’s bid to take Data apart to see what makes him tick. I like a good courtroom drama and Patrick Stewart had some good speeches. I could hear the Shakespearean in him.
“Cause and Effect”. That’s one of my favorites.
Another great line:
Q: So, Worf… Eat any good books lately?
Oh, yeah, I remember that one and the one about Worf taking care of Spot too. Isn’t that the one about Picard defending Data the one where Riker had to prosecute and he removed one of Data’s arms?
There’s a new Trek movie coming out in December, ya know. I think Star Trek: Nemesis is the name of it. I’m definitely going to see it!
Had something else I was gonna say and my mind went blank.
Ah, TNG
Love Yesterday’s Enterprise, Best of Both Worlds pt 1, Inner Light, All Q episodes, Chain of Command pt 2, All Good Things, and that one with the multiple worfs.
One of my favorites has always been the one with the Douwd creature:
This episode is what made me start watching TNG when it was first-run. I also liked the ones involving the military coup with those little critters that attached to the back of your neck. Also the one where Data sees the number three everywhere b/c they programmed it from another timeline. I thought the local UPN channel had screwed up when i first saw it.
Sadly, I don’t get TNN on my local cable so I never get to see TNG reruns.
It never happened, and you can’t make me believe it did.
On the episodes where they figured out what they were doing with Worf (and it also took a season or two) he was great. The Emissary, Sins of the Father - and the whole Klingon story arc were great… And who can possibly forget Worf delivering Keiko’s baby. Priceless.
