Patrick Stewart made an appearance at Worldcon this year (the World Science Fiction Convention, held this year in San Jose) previewing an otherwise unseen Nemesis trailer hot off the Paramount lot. He was, let’s say, warmly welcomed. He’s evidently made his peace with sf fans, because he sure basked in the adulation. It didn’t hurt that he showed scenes from the first two weeks of shooting X-Men II.
I’m in a writers group with the writer who created the Barclay character. She’s very proud of that character, who is so different from everyone else on that show. But the Treks she’s written just don’t begin to touch how good a writer she is.
