Are there any candidates or ballot measures that you are surprised won/passed or lost/failed?
For me, as of the time of this posting, it looks like a ballot measure here in Oregon to create marijuana dispensaries is going to fail. As far as I know Oregon is fairly liberal, and we have the city of Eugene, hippie capital USA.
Another Oregonian here. I’m rather surprised that Dudley is in the lead. I mean, it’s Oregon, for Christ’s sake. How can a republican be in the lead?
Hopefully by morning the Portland metro count will turn the tide.
Some site I read said that Blanch Lincoln, the Arkansas Democrat candidate for the Senate, had a 100% chance of being reelected. John Boozman (the Republican) won, and it was clear fairly early on.
Even my parents and sister, who do not vote for party, voted for Boozman.They said they just like the guy. Heck, I only voted against him becuase I wanted to make sure the Republicans didn’t get the Senate. If I’d believed that site I mentioned above, I might’ve even voted for Boozman thinking my vote wouldn’t matter.
I heard it’s going to be one of the closest elections in the country. It could be a while before we know who wins.
As for me, I’m not really thrilled by either candidate.
