So, I managed to forget my yahoo user name, which I have to use to access my flickr account.
My flickr account name (displayed when you look at your pictures) is firstname.lastname, and the pictures are at flickr.com/photos/firstnamelastname, but when I try logging into yahoo with firstnamelastname or firstname.lastname, it claims there’s no such account.
The problem is that I only ever use yahoo for flickr, and I only ever access flickr through an iPhoto plugin that I put my user name and password into long ago, but just now decided it’s not going to work.
I’m sure that if I can figure out what my account name was, I can try enough passwords that I’ll get in, but I have no idea what the account name was. Is there any way to find out from flickr?
I’m fairly sure that when you create something like a Yahoo account, they send you an email message to confirm that you really wanted to open it. So you might check the inbox for your primary mailbox to see if that message is still there.
I did try that. I’m pretty sure that my primary email account is listed with them, but it didn’t come up with anything.
As for the email when opening the account, I tried searching my gmail account and didn’t find anything. I think the Yahoo account may well predate my main email account, so who knows where that email might be.
