This bugs me to no end. Half the screen is taken up with the less-than-valuable info of who the last poster in the thread was. Meanwhile, the thread title itself is squeezed into an area so small that there’s only one or two words per line. I take it there’s no way to change this?
Yeah, increase the resolution of your monitor. Seriously though, I haven’t heard, or seen, this problem before, so I dunno.
I know what you mean neutron star. I have my monitor set at 800x600 and it’s not as bad as you describe but it does get very cramped at times.
The problem is that the “Thread Starter” column and the “Last Post” column are set to NOWRAP which means that they expand as wide as it takes to hold all the info on one line. This gets especially bad when posters with long names are the Thread Starters or Last Posters. When someone like Nanock of the North Shore or DanielintheWolvesDen are the Thread Starter or Last Posters then those columns get real wide.
There isn’t much that can be done about the Thread Starter column except turn off the “NOWRAP”, but that doesn’t help unless the long name has a space in it somewhere. The Last Post column could easily be helped by doing it the same way it is on the main Forum List page. It is centered and has a line break ( <br> ) between the time and the “by so and so” part. Doing so would, however, make each thread take up 2 lines which some people may not like either.
I don’t know if Jerry and the crew are into tinkering with it yet, but I would love to see the width of the last column cut down and allow the title column to expand.

We had this problem with Netscape browsers when we first installed VBulletin, but Jerry made a patch and fixed it. Subsequent versions (we’ve installed the latest stable one) should have fixed it, too.
What browser/version are you running? Also, I’m led to understand that some ad-scrubbing software interacts poorly with VBulletin. Are you using something like that?
This is actually a pretty rare complaint, so we’re going to need more information if we’re going to help.
I hope you didn’t think I was complaining. I was trying to explain how with lower resolutions the Title column gets narrower. I use Netscape 4.7 but also check things out with IE 5 to see if they are browser specific. The board now supports WebTV and I think it has an even lower resolution than VGA, 640x480.
My suggestion above was to increase the size of the Title column by wrapping the Last Post column. It wasn’t meant as a complaint. I’ve saved the page locally and made the changes and I like it better with the narrower, two line Last Post column, that’s all.

I’m using IE 5.0. I also have Netscape and the problems don’t appear there, but the last couple versions of Netscape have been so buggy that I don’t use it at all.
The problem occurs in both 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions. I’m not using any ad-scrubbing software.
