I’ve heard a few already . … I didn’t come up with these by the way, so attack the theory not me:
-Our government set it up to start a full scale war with Iraq, or Iran or whoever. You know the Tonkin Gulf theory. I pointed out to the person who proposed this that even Hitler didn’t kill thousands of his own people in a staged incident to provoke WW2, he claimed Poland attacked his troops!
-The CIA or NSA or the Defense industry or someone in the government set it up to get Congress to open the defense pocketbook. An old staple of the conspiracy crowd.
-The government set it up as an excuse to take away more of our civil liberties. Hmmm . . . I must have missed that tank going up my street when I went to work this morning.
I guess where a lot of this is originating is the amazement at how our government allowed 4 planes to be hijacked at the same time!
