Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Eh, wandered off during the match and missed the finish. Owens retained?

Like the rest of the matches tonight it was just a normal finisher that caused Ryback to lose. No muss no fuss

How do you disable WWE Network sending spam to your phone? It’s annoying.

OK, found it.

For future reference, what did you do?

Went into the WWE App on the phone into Settings. The notifications are there to check on or off.

I liked the preshow and the 1st two matches, as well as the Divas. The other matches were kinda eh.

Missed Bray Wyatt and company walking off with Undertaker. I switched to football too soon, I guess.

I know they have a lot of guys looking to get a PPV payday, but this old guy would like some longer matches which have time to tell stories. I missed the opener, and I feel that Reigns/Wyatt was the only one given enough time from what I saw. In the arena, the breaks give the audience time to buy stuff, but as a home viewer, I wish to see less breaks too allow for longer matches. And a pony. I wish for less breaks and a pony.

Well, as I say about customers and people in general…

“You can give some people a pony and they’ll just complain that it craps on the carpet.”

Alberto, well ok, why not. We need the funny Del Rio though, not the one who’s just stereotypical annoying heel.

Dudleys, well I hope they’ll be hanging around for feuding and eventually taking another title but there’s a lot of talk about Bubba Ray doing a singles run for glory. It’s ok either way, but I’d like to see Spike take another bow also.

Reigns and Wyatt, what a waste of a Hell in Cell. They just don’t have anything to do with Reigns. He’s not championship material, they don’t have anyone good enough to carry him matches.

Divas match pretty good, I gotta give Nikki some credit for working the new style, she’s still awkward, and Paige should be holding that belt anyway. Charlotte, well we’ve seen everything she’s got already. Nothing much will happen to her until they put her in some ridiculous plot line, unfortunately one that will include her dad.

Seth and Kane? Did they fight? Oh yeah, I remember, sorry, I thought that was a commercial.

And the main event, well, actually better than I expected. Not really good, but for Taker’s final match (please let if be his final match) it wasn’t as awful as I was expecting.

There were some good moments in every match, but they were far outweighed by the bad ones. So all I can say is Yippee! I’ve got WWE Network and I didn’t waste 50 bucks on this show.

Ha! I have hardwood floors. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think he’s made some honest strides toward improving as a singles wrestler. The problem I have is that his promos always seem to come off as whiny. He just hasn’t found that comfort level. At least we’re getting less of the “dog” and the duckface smirk.

I doubt anyone will agree with me, but I think the funny thing about HIAC was that all of the matches were solid, decent matches that had regular finishers (after a finisher)…and everyone complains because it wasn’t “big” or “unique” enough. Yet when things seem big and unique everyone complains because WWE “tries too hard” or whatever.

I think some of the results coulda/shoulda been different, but really it was a perfectly fine night that probably could have just been on RAW. My unpopular opinion breakdown:

Reigns looks perfectly fine and has proven time and time again that he can take a beating and still look strong at the end of the day. I’ll grant the smarks that the WWE is trying too hard to make him the next Cena still, but his in-ring ability has improved dramatically and his in-ring storytelling has as well. Honestly he just needs a manager or someone to talk for him and he’d be there. He deserves more credit.

I joked that the Divas match was NXT worthy and I stand by that. It was tough, physical and didn’t have nearly the amount of whining and screaming that matches usually have. Charlotte looks perfectly fine as a champ and Nikki proved that she can wrestle a legit match. Honestly the thing the divas are missing are other divas who can wrestle. Charlotte brought out the best in a best in a Bella, A bella! Think of how much better everyone would be if they wrestled the girls who can wrestle instead of putting in old talent. As an aside: Paige is godawful as a wrestler and should be nowhere near the belt until she learns to stop screaming her spots and learn how to actually hit

Arguably match of the night was the Taker match. Words I never thought I’d say! He looked good, spry, tough and everything. I actually LOVED the ending with the Wyatts, not so much because of what happened, but because something DID happen and it intrigues me to watch tonight and get the explanation.

Brock being booked in a match doesn’t do anything for me anymore. I know what his deal is, he’s so tough he can’t lose, but I also don’t have too much of a desire to watch him wrestle since I know he’s going to win…takes out the fun.

Now if you replace the word “Brock” with “Cena”…

(Hey, he only lost because he had to drop the belt on his way out. Sure, they could have pulled the Lesnar route where he takes it with him, but that would be contrary to Cenology.)

Taker; I saw it as him passing the torch. Only like most of WWE these days, they only ‘pass the torch’ to existing high level guys who are already carrying their own fire. Now if we get a month or so of Taker slowly putting over Bray Wyatt before retiring, then I’ll be happier. But only as long as that means Wyatt actually wins a feud or two going forward, and I don’t mean over people like Heath Slater.

Thinking they could possibly join Cesaro with Neville against Stardust and Ascension, and if Tyson Kidd ever comes back, remain a 3 man team ala New Day. Cesaro Swing into Kidd’s dropkick, with the Red Arrow to seal the deal. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just finished watching the replay. This is, IMO, the second consecutive PPV that’s been really good - as T-Cups said, you had consistently solid matches, with clean finishes, little in the way of shenanigans, and the right people won the matches. (Well, except the tag match - I guess they’re gonna make us wait until TLC for the Dudleyz to get over.) The finish with the Wyatts and 'Taker was good and it sets up that maybe they’ll eventually reveal him as being Bray’s father after all. Team 'Taker vs. Team Wyatt at Survivor Series, maybe?

Alberto’s return is as unexpected as it is baffling - he’s still the reigning AAA Mega Champion, and is under contract to both AAA and Lucha Underground. This feels like the kind of sweetheart deal Triple H would have brokered, which is odd considering that Alberto hates Triple H - one of the first things he did after getting fired last year was shoot about how Trips is constantly cracking Mexican jokes backstage. I guess WWE and AAA don’t see each other as competition in the same way they see TNA and CMLL as competition.

(Incidentally, this isn’t the first time the AAA Championship and the US championship have been held by the same person - Konnan did it back in 1996 when WCW still controlled the US title.)

Should have been the time they first put someone through a flaming thumbtack covered table. That’s mine anyway, since I was in the 6th row and could literally feel the heat of the flames.

I’m not taking away anything from him, it’s the organization that doesn’t know how to use him. He just needs time to develop more.

On the other hand, the crowd did get a “Let’s go Roman/Roman sucks!” chant going.

Which I guess means that, technically, WWE has succeeded in making Roman Reigns into the next John Cena.

Shit, you’re right… Reigns is the new Cena.

I think we can agree Cena is top-level talent, even if we can’t stand him. Does anybody remember if he was top-level before his push, or after? I think he was an unknown when he beat Chris Jericho straight out of the gate. Of course Jericho put over Fandango too and Fanny’s now mopping the basement.

Reigns was certainly over when he first came out with the Shield, but that was because Seth and Dean were more of the fall guys. He doesn’t need to ride their coattails any more, though. He’s money and just as polarizing as Cena. Sure, I’d rather Bray had won, but Reigns doesn’t upset me. He’s still a duckface.

I figure at this point that Rollins is going to hold the title until WrestleMania. At the Royal Rumble, either Reigns is going to win outright the second year in a row, or he and Ambrose will eliminate each other and be co-winners, and go on to do a triple-threat for the title at 'Mania.

And Reigns will win.

And at this point, I’m OK with that, a lot more so than I was this time a year ago. At least they’re not making Roman recite nursery rhymes or do hokey promos about “making it rain in that bitch” anymore, and a Roman title win next year would set up for him to face Cena at the next Summerslam.

Ok, on partial replay, I did like JBL’s ‘Chief Jay Trombone’ joke.

They do that with a lot of people. You usually hear it a few times a week on NXT.
