That was really pissing me off. Especially since all the damned commercials (really, I’m paying for those?) ran flawlessly every time.
It goes to a voicemail where Famous B asks you to leave a message saying why he should make you famous. I haven’t actually left a message and I have no idea what (if anything) they’re planning on doing with this angle.
I have, however, read that they’ve announced that the first batch of tapings for season 3 are starting next weekend. If they keep up their usual taping schedule, season 3 will be in the can before season 2 even wraps up. I wonder how long they’re going to make us wait before seeing season 3?
In other news, LU is doing a live show at SXSW this weekend.
I think Bo Dallas needs to be at Takeover: Dallas.
Please. Let him walk out first and talk about how it’s great to be recognized by having a PPV named after him and all, but somehow his invitation got lost and the hotel didn’t have a reservation for him…
You didn’t mention your Bull Dempsey singlet? You could wind up as one of the special fans who gets to whip Hernandez with a belt.
Maybe season 3 will start right after the end of 2, and they’ll keep it on a continual basis.
Sami Zayn was on Smackdown, woo hoo! I thought Miz was going to interrupt him and not let him talk like he did with AJ, but he actually let him use the mike, even though Zayn seemed a little tentative in his promo. Maybe it was nerves, or adjusting to a larger audience. KO came out to explain that what he did to Sami wasn’t personal, and went into the “best for business” mantra.
Somehow the feud just hasn’t sparked like it did in NXT, mainly because WWE thought they had to put in a couple of extra players to help Sami get over. It wound up being a tag match with Sami & Neville vs KO and Miz, and Neville acted the fall guy most of the match, which is what Sami excels at. KO once again abandoned his tag team partner, leaving Miz to eat the loss.
Granted, it’s just step 1 to their WM showdown, so there’s a little time for KO to abuse Sami properly. I doubt it will reach the level of the NXT feud because it will get swallowed up in all the WM promos, but glad to see Sami in the big money category.
This needs to happen.
So, here’s the matches we have announced for Roadblock tonight;
-
Dean Ambrose vs. Triple H for the world championship. As I said before, the smart thing to do here would be to let Dean put some stank on it, win the title, and merge their respective WrestleMania matches into a four-way main event. That probably won’t happen, though, and Trips will retain.
-
Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt. BROCKWINSLOL.
-
Enzo & Big Cass vs. Dash & Dawson for the NXT tag titles. I don’t see Enzo & Cass winning the titles now when they’re so close to getting called up, but it would be a bad move to have them lose clean on their first televised main roster match. I’m gonna predict a DQ or some kind of dirty finish that lets them come out on top, but keeps the titles on the Revival (since apparently they quit their day jobs as mechanics) until they drop them to American Alpha in Dallas.
-
Charlotte vs. Natalya for the women’s title. Charlotte retains, but considering the way they tore the roof off the joint when they werestled for the title in NXT, it oughta be a hell of a match.
-
New Day vs. Sheamus & Wade Barrett for the tag titles. This is the match where a title change is most likely, but I’m thinking New Day retains.
That’s all that’s been announced so far, so I figure one or two surprise matches to fill in the card. WWE is running a house show in Atlantic City at the same time, so the roster is limited, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Sami Zayn shows up and gets a huge pop from the Canadian audience.
Did that pompadour haired dude just call it cay-nuh-duh?
A really really good non-pay-per-view that is soured because of the predictable finishes.
I honestly think that each match was wrestled really well, had minimal botches, told good stories, and I thought “this could be the match of the night” after almost each one of them.
However, the fact that I knew for a fact how each one would end, and the way they ended, left me feeling like I wasted my night.
I feel especially bad for Enzo and Cass because they can’t win for the damn life of them and they DESERVE that championship. Who says you can’t have a face v face match between them and AA? They do it between the women all the damn time. Have a great match, let the crowd cheer their asses off, end with AA taking the belts from Enzo and Cass, they hug at the end, Enzo and Cass are called up, AA get’s a title reign. Boom. Bam. Easy.
The ending of Ambrose/Trips made me mad too. Not because Trips won (per se…) but because he pinned Ambrose with just a pedigree. You couldn’t have Ambrose go through the table and be called out? Or have an appearance by Sledgy? Nope, a hard fought match that Trips has to win because…Trips.
Mania needs to get here so that I can pretend I’m going to be surprised at things again.
Says a lot for Sami Zayn’s in-ring ability when he can make a match with Cody Rhodes look epic.
I’m not liking Bray Wyatt being portrayed as a coward. The Wyatts used to be scary, now they’re just jobbers. At least Luke Harper didn’t get squashed.
Enzo & Cass’s problem is that they’re too charismatic. They get crazy heat even if they lose, so there’s no reason to give them belts to get them over.
Ditto STC. It’s hard to get into a match when the outcome isn’t in doubt. Plus, you know Dean has to make the boss look good.
The good news; you can now buy your own box of Booty-Os on the WWE shop.
The bad news; the box just contains a t-shirt and not actual Booty-Os, meaning that we are all doomed to be forever booty.
Is there anything wrestling related you WON’T buy?
The problem with any PPV now is that we all know the Wrestlemania matches. Sure, they might pull a switcheroo, but that is so rare and usually only used for injuries and to punish someone.
So I kinda watched going ‘Did anyone piss off Vince this month?’.
I was a pretty decent PPV from my point of view and they worked hard for it, but when the outcomes are not in doubt, it loses a lot of the excitement.
Perhaps a more appropriate name for the show would have been “Speed Bump” instead of “Roadblock”.
I am so mad about this because I want it really badly, but can’t talk myself into spending the money.
The t-shirt is hilarious, the box is hilarious…it’s just all so funny
Breaking new on the theme park front…
Universal announced today they are putting in a new-age dessert bar/restaurant thing called the chocolate something-or-other in the shell of the old NBA City restaurant.
Which was, of course, where the rumored/confirmed-but-not-really WWE HoF restaurant was supposedly going to go. I guess they could always build a new building for it if it was true, but I don’t know of anywhere on CityWalk it could go that isn’t already taken.
Maybe it’s not happening after all.
I thought that Mad Dog Vachon and Road Dogg (and not Billy Gunn, because he got fired for doping) were going into HoF, but it turned out to be a hot dog commercial.
Oh good fucking god.
“Should the Freebirds work with New Day?”
As my comment at the bottom,
“Considering that two of the three are currently DEAD, that might be a problem.”
Neville injured, ref doesn’t notice and do the quick count to get him out of there. Jericho gets in his face about it.
