Not to mention the stupid characters he has to play. He’s become a pretty good wrestler. I doubt he’ll ever connect with the audience as well as his dad did, or even his brother, but outside of WWE he’ll have a chance to get somewhere. I assume he’s been paid pretty well over the past 10 years, and maybe Dusty left him something also, so he shouldn’t be hurting financially.
It doesn’t surprise me that more and more of the older talent wants to leave. They are quickly being surpassed by the newer generation and their characters are either dying out, or just being ignored.

Jericho vs Ambrose, Asylum Match
This should be a fun match, but it will look lame if they have barbed wire baseball bats and chainsaws and meat hooks and never use them. Ambrose runs the asylum.
4-way for the IC Championship
The thing I hate about 3-ways and 4-ways (Archer: Phrasing!) is the “oh my gosh, I’m too stunned to come in the ring for 5 minutes” procedure. Miz, however, will happily use this tactic and gloat about it. Cesaro will get to European Uppercut the other three as the crowd goes wild. Sami will do a flipadip on the other three outside the ring, lucha style. KO will do a Triple Butt Splash Cannonball on the other three. Since Cesaro has been losing on TV, he gets the title tonight. Predict this match will steal the show.
Charlotte vs Natalya, Women’s Title, Submission Match
Ric Flair is banned. The match will be booked like Charlotte can’t win without her dad, but then she wins without her dad.
Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles, Extrrrrrreme Rules for the World title
This suits RR’s brawling style, and AJ can work with a mop if he has to. The Non-brand designated Club will interfere, and the Ooses will come to Roman’s rescue. RR gets off the triple Superman Punch Salvo and keeps the title lol.

The Fourtal Faway did indeed steal the show as predicted (except for the winner). Zayn worked 90% of the time and came out as the hard luck guy while Cesaro continues to be a bridesmaid instead of a bride. Rest of the PPV has been kinda so-so so far.
About the minute Ambrose laid out the tacks, the Matchbox 20 song started going through my mind.

I realized that I just didn’t care about the match, which was odd since I like both guys, but I just didn’t fucking care. Paused it, went and fed the cats and made popcorn, advanced past it when I came back.

A decent PPV overall I think. Nothing earth-shattering, but I’d give it a solid B.
I didn’t pay a whoooooole lot of attention to it, and there was a big break in there was Ms. Cups needed the TV to watch Game of Thrones (such a stupid show…but that’s another rant), so I was watching on mute on my laptop.
I heard a rumor that Charlotte is going to keep the Women’s title for the next coupla PPVs so that she breaks the record for longest title run…I don’t know why…but she is. That, unfortunately, is the title I care least about so I really hope they do something interesting with it.
Seth coming back is okay I guess. I wish he would have done more in the match other than just interfere for the title. Frankly I wish he would have COST RR the title because then it could get the belt off of him and get him in a program that’s away from any title whatsoever. Let AJ feud with Bray or something.
2 things that were just insufferable last night: The goddamn shaky cam, and the goddamn fans. I’ve ranted about the stupid smarky fans before, so that’s not new, but the shaky cam last night was worse than normal. Can’t you just let the action happen? Please?
Being predictable is killing them.
We know the long term plan, we know who is going to win. Sure, that match may be entertaining, but I lose a LOT of interest when it is pretty much laid out in public that there’s zero chance for a change.

I was disappointed to see Rollins return without any changes, but they may not be revealing everything yet. I expected someone to return last night, for Rollins I was expecting him in ring though. All in all, another lame show, highly predictable as noted above. WWE has created a glut on the supply side, too many wrestlers, not enough asses in seats. With the restrictions of their format this doesn’t give us the best product. Frankly, the wrestlers are almost all overpaid, not because they aren’t any good, but if there was real competition in this business most of them couldn’t make anywhere near what they get paid.
My biggest issue is with Chris Jericho calling Ambrose a stupid idiot. Idiot means “someone who’s stupid,” so it’s repetitive.
Plus, it sounds like one of those uninspired insults you say on the spot when you can’t think of anything better. “You tore my jacket, you… stupid idiot!”
He had plenty of time to come up with a better insult, like “You cow-eyed idiot” or “You stupid kneebiter.” I realize the PG filter restricts a few words, but we’ve had classics like “pencil-necked geek” from Freddie Blassie, “spudhead” from Larry Zybysko, “rancid pile of fetid camel dung” from the Great Mephisto, “jabronie” from The Rock, and Bobby Heenan’s “ham and egger.” C’mon Chris, earn your place in heel history.

What might come as a surprise is that WWE is reporting that he asked for his release.
I still think his stage dive with the Rosebuds entrance is one of the coolest entrances in WWE history.

I think at this point the writing was on the wall, he wasn’t coming back or if he did, it would be Shit City, so he asked to be released so that he can move on with his life.
I expect more from him also. He’s the guy that gave us Ass Clowns and Fun Dung Hole. I don’t think he’s a happy camper right now, I’m surprised he’s hung around this long for this years visit.
