Going into the main event, I figured I was happy with the undercard and wasn’t expecting a lot out of the Shield match. I was wrong. Those guys did a great job and had me engrossed in the match. And the right guy won.
I missed it because Ms. Cups and I moved from an hour outside of Orlando to basically shaking Shamu’s fin in our new apartment across the street from Seaworld.
As with most moves, something had to wrong, and that thing was U-Verse screwing us over and leaving us high and dry until tomorrow.
So needless to say we missed the PPV and we’ll miss RAW. We’ll watch it tomorrow I’m sure, but what’s everyone’s rating on it?
Sami Zayn vs KO was the match of the year. BG was worth it just for that alone.
Dean vs Seth vs Roman was top notch as well. It had plenty of “Let’s gang up on the other guy” moments, followed by instant betrayal.
Wyatts vs ND was also good and deserves a few more matches, but that won’t happen because of the brand split.
Sasha & Bailey vs Charlotte and Dana had some NXT level brutality and a lot of fun.
Rusev vs Ryder was what you’d expect, nothing new, but introduced Mojo Rawley to the main roster. For some reason, he and Rusev didn’t slug it out.
Becky Lynch vs Natalya was kind of eh. It had the disadvantage of following Zayn vs Owens, so the crowd was too tired to get into it. Same for Young vs Miz, but that feud will continue and you’ll get to see Backlund go all senior rage again.
But on reading that, I had this mental image of Strowman standing behind New Day really getting into the NEW DAY ROCKS chants, smiling, clapping and chanting along.
I can see that happening, and that is stuff of nightmares. Strowman already talks like the Abominable Snowman who thinks Daffy Duck is a bunny rabbit and calls him George.
This was the first Raw I’ve watched in a while and I was impressed. Very little McMahon presence and loads of good wrestling. Good for Sasha and Finn. I hope their pushes continue. Good chemistry between Owens and Rusev. I’d be interested in seeing them tag for a while.
I don’t like RAW’s new logo. It looks like somebody ran out of Ws and put in an upside-down M. Otherwise, good show. I liked the little extra touches, like the pre-match interview with Brawn Lothbrok’s sacrificial lamb.
That was a cool moment when Sasha waved goodbye to Dana with an eat shit grin. “Girl, bye!”
Roman picked a good time to take Adderall. It would eventually shoot Finn to the moon. I hated to see Finn leave NXT, but he looks like he belongs in the mothershiiiip.
Good start for RAW. They had wrestlers wrestling, what a novel approach! What on earth was the point of that big doofus Strawman clobbering that poor kid who wants to be a wrestler? Hard to believe but he makes The Big Slow look good for a giant. Roman Reigns can finish his heel turn now, before he fades away completely. Other than the possibility he’ll put Rollins away I don’t see Finn around a year from now. Sasha Banks keeps improving as a performer, won’t be long before Charlotte is the two time Women’s Champion. Who had 2 minutes in the pool for how long before they make a new belt? Let’s see if they can make it to next week before wrestlers cross over the two shows. The pressure’s on Shane now, if he doesn’t make the arena explode tonight it’s all been another enormous waste of time.
