Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Yeah, putting the Cruiserweights on RAW instead of Smackdown is seriously wrong.

That’s freakin’ spectacular.

“…all the little Ellsters out there.”

What’s not to like about a pathetic, chinless but nevertheless immortal wrestler?

DIIILLLLLLBERG

How is it that today’s jobbers are more over than the A-listers?

I don’t think we’ve ever met in person, but I’m 5’9" and 185, pretty solidly built (like a Dean Malenko build), and I would give my left arm to have gotten the call that James Ellsworth got. I think any indy fed guy who can take a bump and otherwise has no shot at the 'E would do it- the more average-joe-ish the better.

The man had a main event spot on Smackdown, for pete’s sake!!

[sub]…Hunter, if you’re reading this, I’m totally safe and I sell like Blake!!![/sub]

Your P.S. just inspired a hilarious thought.

What if we log in one day and a new user with the username HHH had a huge rant that was basically “Look you little assholes, you have no idea what it takes to run a company…”

And goes into super-close detail about all the backstage problems, and addresses the things we say and calls us each out and we’re just dumbfounded as to who did it, if it’s real and why he’s so mad at us

Meanwhile, in Lucha Underground, Killshot…well, I was going to say something like he literally murdered Marty the Moth, but we’ve actually seen literal murders there, so let’s just leave it at one hell of a nasty bump.

And the police captain may well be a thousand year-old Aztec priestess. Who knew?

And I am just shocked, shocked I tell you that Joey Ryan is a corrupt sleezebag.

I’d eat that shit with a fork, and demand that he use some sort of code phrase (like calling somebody happy and scrappy) on RAW to prove it really was him. And if it was him, I’d buy whatever he was selling.

Wasn’t there an episode of some Josh Matthews/Road Dogg Youtube show where “Puppet H” went in on indy wrestling fans?

…yep. Skip ahead to 3:20 of this video.

I’d laugh at him for being incapable of running a company if he had to break cover and vent on a public message board. There’s zero to be gained from it and lots to be lost.

On /r/SquaredCircle, user FalconArrow was widely suspected of being someone in the organization. Predictions and teasers were uncanny and very detailed until whoever it was suddenly had to delete their account and go dark.

I don’t usually read spoilers for NXT tapings, but I saw one tonight that explains what the “Sanity” promos over the last few weeks have been about;

It’s a new stable consisting of Eric Young(!), Nikki Storm (formerly Nikki Glencross), Alexander Wolfe (formerly Axel Tischer), and Sawyer Fulton. They’ll be debuting in this year’s Dusty Rhodes Classic against the team of Bobby Roode and Ty Dillinger (not quite a Beer Money reunion, but I can see them working as a duo.

Very interesting use of the long-time members like Wolfe and Fulton. I’m especially intrigued as to how Fulton will be received. I think he’s only been on TV a handful of times and he’s pretty boring.

I did wonder where Young ran off to though…

Back in the usenet days, I used to subscribe to the wrestling thread, and there was one user who was actually in the business named Zoogz Rift. He was a manager for the Warlord in some California fed that’s extinct now. He was also a rock musician in the experimental genre like Zappa & Beefheart, but not nearly as good.

Rift mainly posted in character like a heel manager, but it was probably one step removed from his real personality. He would occasionally rant at the other usenetters for being stupid enough to believe anybody in the industry read their posts (turns out they do, but mainly to show numbers for social media data), similar to the HHH scenario you thought of.

I think at some point, the wrestling industry did get paranoid about insider terms and real names popping up on the interwebs and committing the cardinal sin of breaking kayfabe, but it actually increased mainstream interest in wrestling, so it was “best for business.”

Well, there was precisely zero chance they could maintain kayfabe in the Internet Era. it just took them a while to figure that out.

Anyone else hearing that WWE put in a bid for TNA?

I read online (so it’s obviously true if it’s on the internet) that Sinclair Broadcasting and WWE put in bids for TNA

WWE could probably buy TNA with their catering budget.

Heath Slater: TNA Commissioner.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Well, we now have our card set for Clash of Champions this Sunday, the first Raw-exclusive (Rawsclucive?) PPV of the New Era.

Here, as always, are some predictions.

  • Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship. At Backlash we had face vs. face for the Cool Ranch Championship, now we’ve got heel vs. heel for its Spicy Nacho counterpart. Owens should retain here, but I could see them putting in Seth if they’re turning him face and Roman heel (more on that later) in order to reignite the feud between the two of them.

  • Triple Threat for the Raw Women’s title; Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Bayley. (I like that it’s the Raw Women’s title now, since it puts it on equal footing with the Smackdown title.) My money’s on Sasha to win back the belt - now that she’s rested up from the injuries that were nagging her, she can go on to have the title run she should have had before it got cut short. I’d love to see Bayley win, but IMO she needs more time to build up her following with the Raw crowd before she becomes a champion.

  • Roman Reigns vs. Rusev for the US title. After the non-match they had at Summerslam, maybe we’ll actually have the promised match this time. I’m predicting Roman wins in a double turn where Rusev goes face and he goes heel, possibly by attacking Lana (intentionally or otherwise).

  • New Day vs. Bullet Club for the Raw tag titles. The Club should’ve won at Summerslam, but instead we got a Jon Stewart run-in, a DQ finish that made no sense, and Big E chugging what was implied to be a jar of his own urine. Let’s not hope for a repeat of that. Gallows and Anderson should win here so that all of Bullet Club’s WWE chapter is holding gold. (Long term, I’d like to see the Usos also win the Smackdown titles and join BC as well, and build to some sort of cross-brand Bullet Club vs. Balor Club match at Survivor Series if Finn is back in action by then, or maybe at 'Mania. But that’s just fantasy booking that will never happen because the Crazy Old Man is convinced that Big Show vs. Shaq is what’s gonna move tickets for 'Mania.)

  • TJ Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick for the cruiserweight championship. Perkins should retain here - beating the seasoned vet will be a good way to put him over with the Raw crowd and spotlight the amazing new talents the CWC has brought into the fold. I can also see Perkins having some really engaging title matches against guys like Cedric Alexander or Jack Gallagher if he retains.

  • Sheamus vs. Cesaro, best-of-seven final. I’m gonna pick Cesaro to win this one, since they’ve been following the pretty standard storyline of “heel has a winning streak, gets this close to a complete shut-out, and the face then forces him into a tie” you see in these kind of series.

  • Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho. Sami hasn’t been in the limelight much lately - he needs this win to reignite his push.

  • Nia Jax vs. Alicia Fox on the pre-show. NIAWINSLOL.

Nah, Rollins loses, Cesaro loses, and they’re BOTH traded to Smackdown for Miz and the IC title. :stuck_out_tongue:

Those are all honestly really good predictions and the exact ones I’d make. The only (slight) difference is I don’t think they’re turning Reigns heel, he’s just going to win it outright.

I love what they’re doing with the Cruiserweight title. I think having TJP go over THE Brian Kendrick is a perfect example of a humbled vet putting the young-gun over.
