Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

Maybe they’ll move Neville and Kallisto over to this and also some NXT also-rans.

TNA should just hand over ownership to the Hardys. They invented their own Rocky Horroresque culture and totally made me forget how fucked TNA is behind the scenes. In addition, I’m really impressed with EC III’s mike work. His feud with Eli “DUMMY! YEAH!” Drake is pretty intense.

My favorite moment of the night was the triple way X division match where Rockstar Spud squared off against the much larger Marshe Rockett. He got intimidated and tagged in the still larger Abyss, then flipped off Rockett, the gesture of which was mosaiced out.

You know, I’m 42 years old, it’s really time i stopped yelling, “Hey, that’s cheating!” at the screen. I should be over that by now.

Yes, even when we know we’re taken in, we’re still taken in.

Well, it looks like they’re setting up the shift.

Expect Ziggler to lose the IC title to Sami Zayn, who takes it back to RAW.
Then Kallisto beats THE Brian Kendrick to take the CW title to Smackdown. Which makes sense since that title is moving to a non-TV network show immediately after Smackdown.

Now, as people have suggested, we just need to trade Graves for JBL and all will be right with the world.

This is what the Glasgow crowd was singing at Bayley.

Is it just me, or does it sound really spooky whenever a UK crowd sings in mass at sporting events?

OK, I get nervous when this thread goes idle.

Any NXT house show news STC?
Any behind-the-scenes chicanery of note Smapti?
Anything you’re pissed about Chimera?

Prince Puma has been “killed off” in LU by losing in a coffin match to Mil Muertes, so Ricochet emerges in New Japan. Maybe WWE can lure him over to the CW division someday.

Eh, only been two days and many people are still in shock over Election Day.

My boys DIY lost to AoP in what was a pretty darned good match. Oh well, I believed they deserved the trophy for what they’ve done for NXT, but am curious as to the AoP vs. TM61 finale. I have to go with AoP being built as the unbeatable monsters who will rule the tag division just as Asuka rules the Women’s division.

Oh how I wish the SD (LIVE!) announce team was just Mauro and Daniel Bryan. They were so great as the CWC announcers. Mauro and Graves would probably be good as well (especially if they’d tone down the heelishness a bit), but not as good. Just get Otunga the fuck out of there. He makes Byron Saxton look interesting.

Graves has a pretty bright future. He’ll be the next top announcer. He makes the best ‘out of the blue’ (but probably rehearsed and pre-approved) comments.

Sometimes his ‘I’m a heel so I always say heel things even when it is inconsistent’ has an underlying current of subtly breaking the 4th wall. Kayfabe is dead, we both know it is a game, but he’s playing the character by the traditional rules with a smile on his face and a lot of wit, and we know it is maddeningly inconsistent and makes no sense, but that is part of what makes it heelish. We all know people like that, the asshole who can say two completely opposite things and still argue with you how he is correct in the face of his blatant hypocrisy.

It’s been a crazy few weeks for me with losing my job and finding unpaid work and a bunch of shitty things, so I haven’t really watched any wrestling in a good while. Hopefully I’ll be back on my feet here soon and back to regular business.

No new NXT house shows announced for a while. I think they’re doing a cross-country tour. I really want one to happen because I’m eager to see if they use the new venue they did last time, so much better than the old one.

A bunch of NXT people are going to be at UCF for “NXT Knight” for their home opener in basketball. I think that’s a pretty funny pairing right there.

Got an email about getting early Wrestlemania tix at a community even that’s actually right around the corner from where I live in the Seaworld area. There’ll be a bunch of NXT people there and a match between TJP and Cien Almas and some other stuff. Might just have to check it out.

With NXT Toronto next weekend, make your predictions for matches and call-ups.

Nakamura - Joe: I predict Joe will lose and then be called up. Shinsuke is the current ‘Finn Balor’-esque male headliner for NXT. I think he needs a bit more work on his english and would be somewhat lost on the main roster (no seriously, because VINCE), so Joe the Monster gets called up to burn through the main roster to the main event and lose to put over whatever face - probably Reigns. :frowning:

Asuka - James: No question, Asuka goes over, as Mickey James is only signed for the one night. Not like there was a lot of suspense, but if MJ had been signed, you could at least imagine her winning.

DIY - Revival. I really want to see my boys DIY win this, but Revival just works so well.

Both of these teams are great and deserve a main roster shot. HOWEVER, considering how they’ve completely fucked over American Alpha and are ignoring that mega-over face team to give time to Slater/Rhino, I have ZERO faith in either of these teams being given much of a shot on the main roster.

TM61 - AoP: No idea, but I’m going to go with AoP winning and being called up over any of the other teams. Even though they should stay in NXT for at least six months. Because they’re monsters and Vince likes monsters.
Then I’m going to predict/suggest a cut. I like the guy, but time to cut bait with Curtis Axel. TPTB are never going to see him as anything but the lowest and most forgettable of jobbers and he’s (already?) 37 years old. Time for a couple of years in Japan, RoH or Evolve for that man. Drop any WWE related names and wrestle under your own name, Joe Hennig. Then come home to Champlin, MN and sell cars or own a sports bar. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think your results are correct, but I highly disagree on callups. I think there will be a total of 0 call ups.

Other than Joe no one is ready, and you need Joe as the hell face of the division because Sinsuke can’t talk and has no other rivals to face that are believable.

As much as the smarks (not y’all) will hate it, Joe and Nakamura need to be in NXT for a good, long while as NXT resets with talent.

Goldberg should squash Lesnar in two minutes, unite all the belts into the Goldberg belt(even the womens’ and tag titles) and be the dominant force in WWE until he’s 60.

How sick are we going to get of WWE after this weekend? I know NXT Takeover will be worth it, but 6 hours of Survivor Series? Even if all the matches are 5 star, burnout is bound to settle in.

To WWE’s credit, both shows have been making it intriguing, what with all the internal feuding and beefing and backstabbing and one-upsmanship. Plus, there’s always the possibility of the surprise breakout star who defies all the odds, like Dolph did last year. I think this year it will be Becky Lynch.

I wonder why they dropped Baron Corbin? They pushed him and then Blam, instant Wall of Career Stall. Nepotism ftw!

10 on 10 matches are usually duds. They all politely stand together in the corner and watch until the quick pin. What, the 9 other team members aren’t going to rush in and break it up? Beer refill time.

Sami Zayn vs Dolph Ziggler could be match of the year. Kendrick and Kallisto will be rave. SD might be a more appropriate place for the CWs, but that will mean the midcarders will be back on RAM.

I think I’ll sit out Oldberg vs Lessmore.

Sick of it after only Sunday? No no no no no.

Saturday - Takeover
Sunday - Survivor Series
Monday - RAW
Tuesday - Smackdown
Wednesday - NXT

14 hours (?) of programming over 5 days.

Apropos of nothing, but Ms. Cups and I got tickets to an NXT taping in early January. It’s been a good couple months since we went to a taping, figured why not?

I’ll also report more tomorrow night, but there’s a big pre-Wrestlemania party going on downtown where you can get early tickets and TJP is going to be there and a bunch of stuff. Ms. Cups and I are on the list so we’ll see what that’s about and if we get our tickets tomorrow

Shit shit shit, I wanted to see Zayn vs Ziggler. Now he’s taking on Puddingface Miz instead. Dammit. Did Dolph molest an intern or something? Our future president says it’s OK to grab them by their p…rivate parts.

Yeah, I’m really curious about the back-stage reasoning behind that move.

I dunno, Miz wins and punks Zayn, who arranges to be traded for Apollo Crews (who?) so Zayn ‘The underdog from the underground’ can feud with Miz over the belt on Smackdown?

Zigs for Cesaro?
