I hate Vince McMahon.
suuuuuuck
Well, that was something. You can’t just set Goldberg up to be THAT dominant and then have him lose to Lesnar. I think he’s doing another squash job on Lesnar.
If I was paying for these shows exclusively, I’d demand my money back. This was just an episode of Raw.
I’m hoping that’s where they’re going with this. Sasha thinks Bayley will be an easier opponent for the title. Otherwise, there’s no reason to have Sasha interfere without it being a response to Dana interfering. Plus Heel Sasha = Best Sasha. But do they have any other decent faces on Raw? Bayley can’t be the only one.
Uggghhhh, WTF. I’m not normally one to bitch and moan about WWE booking, but good god, that was a kick in the balls to all your paying fans.
Thank Og for the network. If I paid $50 for that abortion I’d be really pissed off. On to Part-time-amania!
This. So much this.
It’s been announced that they’re taking new indy dates again, which would probably preclude their going to work for Meekman. (Maybe they’ll show up in DEFY? I can only hope.)
In the meantime, however, the Young Bucks were scheduled to defend against Roppongi Vice at the 15th anniversary PPV this Friday - it’s apparently now been changed to a triple threat. I’ve got the night off, so I’ll probably be watching - the card is also set to feature Adam Cole defending the world title against Christopher Daniels, and a six-man tag championship match with the Kingdom vs. Dalton Castle and the Boys.
As to Fastlane - mostly an OK show, but marred by a series of bad decisions. The main event was stupid - if you’re booking Goldberg as an unstoppable powerhouse, then it damages him to have him win by theme music distraction, and having this match be yet another squash doesn’t build confidence that his 'Mania match will be any good. Sacrificing Braun’s undefeated streak on the altar of Making Roman Look Strong damages Braun’s brand and does nothing to improve Roman’s since it’s become pretty clear at this point that the audience isn’t going to start cheering him no matter how many Big Guys he beats. I can’t figure out for the life of me why Sasha attacking Charlotte in full view of the ref didn’t result in an immediate DQ - it hurts Bayley that she can’t win the match on her own, and at the very least if they were dead-set on doing it that way there should have been a ref bump. The New Day skit was pointless and accomplished nothing unless they’re building towards a breakup and a Big E heel turn (which would be a welcome change from their minstrel show antics at this point.) The whole thing with Steph being stuck on the tarmac beggared belief (as if the commissioner would only just be flying in that afternoon), to say nothing of the fact that her calling in or streaming the show on her phone after the plane left the gate would be a federal crime.
The tag title match was good, and the cruiserweight match was good, even the random Rusev/Jinder stuff was good. The stupid stuff is gonna leave a bad taste in my mouth, though, and it’s bizarre how the Raw PPVs can be so horribly overbooked while the Smackdown PPVs consistently deliver.
There is some worry regarding tonight’s Raw and possible backlash regarding Oldberg’s win at Fastlane. Normally there wouldn’t be a concern but Raw is right here, in Chicago, Illinois (cheap pop). Expect numerous “CM Punk” chants (I know, I know) and a chorus of boos as they look to set up Reigns/Undertaker for Part-time-a-mania.
I for one hope the crowd crucifies them tonight. Honestly the only thing that will save them tonight is if CM Punk actually returns and we all know that ain’t gonna happen.
After Fastlame, the only thing I’m looking forward to at WM is the NXT Takeoever the night before.
I don’t see how they’re going to sell ice cream bars online, and if they don’t have the cereal in stores, I doubt they’ll try to sell ice cream that way (and yes, I am familiar with the original WWE ice cream bars). My guess is, the bicycle is going to come into play somehow - probably have somebody hide inside the ice cream compartment.
I heard that Stephanie’s mother has an in with the current administration…
And what was the point of Sasha beating a clearly stronger Nia, unless they’re trying to depush Nia for some reason - is there a Wellness Violation announcement in the works or something?
Women’s Fatal Fourway at Wrestlemania. Charlotte leaves with the title, I’m guessing after Dana interferes. This PPV was a trainwreck. Shit job of setting up and selling Wrestlemania. If I had to pay for Wrestlemania, this show would keep my $$ in my pocket.
This really should happen. Sasha is a born heel and she and Bayley had such great matches together.
I think Oldberg broke his hip taking that bump.
And the Chicago crowd has not let me down.
I just got around to watching Fastlane last night. It’s nice to just zip through all the crap I don’t care about.
Look, I love Goldberg. But that match was an insult to me, you, Kevin Owens and Goldberg himself. The only way they can milk more than 3 minutes out of him is show his whole walk through the building and have KO jump in and out of the ring several times.
Since I saw a commercial for it last night…
Has anyone here watched Holey Foley? Specifically the last episode? Did Noelle get a contract or no?
I know it’s as simple as turning it on, but I have no desire to watch even one episode of that BS, hoping someone else here took the bullet…
No, she didn’t. She was told to work on her stuff with an open door to try out again in the future. She has no natural athleticism, which her dad said “Hey, they said that about me too”.
But then it ends with her not sure she wants to continue to work on it. I think she had unrealistic expectations of what it would take and that she could get in on her family name and the fact that she was doing a TV show for them.
Awesome thanks.
I was a bit dubious about it in the first place. IT seemed like it was a made-for-TV thing rather than her wanting to actually do it. I basically see her as Renee Young in about 5 years
There it was. Talking Smack, Miz takes the shot at DBD wanting to wrestle, but he can’t because of his head.
DBD: “Can’t or they won’t let me. We’ll see in a year and a half.”
Interesting. If Bryan Danielson does return to the ring after his WWE contract runs out, I certainly hope he’ll condescend to working once or twice in a certain indy promotion that runs in what he considers to be his hometown. ![]()
Didn’t they further sow the seeds of AJ/Shane at 'Mania too?
