Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

no that ones still going this was a sort of fighting game that never stopped and you just tapped the target to fight in an endless gauntlet style of matches ….http://www.sega.com/games/wwe-tap-mania

according to the documentary rumors were the actual owner of the fed started sleeping with a few the girls and Pia Zadora his wife found out and made him choose either the fed or her

I mean, aren’t they already?

Other than losing people to WWE they run like a small promotion. Not to mention if they did act like their own thing, they would keep guys in NXT way longer than needed and the stories would get stale. Either that or it would add more people and turn into just another indy promotion.

No, NXT is perfect just the way it is.
Also: Newsflash WWE! Having title changes on your weekly show GETS PEOPLE TALKING and MAKES THEM INTERESTED. I hate that titles only change hands on special events/PPVs.

This is just absolutely precious.

Candice LaRae’s niece made a sign for Tommaso Ciampa that includes a poem:
“Roses are red, your eyes are blue… We have 5 fingers… 1 is for you.”

Too many deaths recently.

RIP Nikolai Volkoff, WWE’s Soviet heel during the 1980’s. He and Iron Sheikh were at their best as a tag team.
RIP Brain Christopher, Jerry Lawler’s son, known as Grandmaster Sexay in the 2000’s.
RIP Brickhouse Brown, mainly active in USWA and AWA

wow I remember brickhouse in wccw ……him and iceman parsons used to feud a lot (for the longest time they were the only 2 black guys there )

I always rose to respect Volkoff’s singing of the Soviet national anthem.

Brian Christopher was 46. Not much older than me. It’s such a damn shame.

I really don’t remember Brickhouse Brown that much. I know they erroneously announced his death last week. Some smartass on Twitter made the comment that apparently hospices are doing false finishes now. (I apologize if any one found that comment disrepectful)

The first house show I ever went to as a kid had Volkoff vs. Boris Zhukov, just after Nicolai’s face turn. My dad had to tell me not to stand when Boris sang the anthem.

Trevor Lee’s dad, a promoter up in NC, died as well.

Tough weekend for wrestling. Volkoff was a big find for Vince back in the 70s, a big dangerous looking Russian heel to take the place of the aging Ivan Koloff. He got the big push to start off before becoming a long time worker.

Brian Christopher is just a sad story, s talented wrestler but working under the shadow of his father and not the kind of physically large wrestler Vince always had a hard on for.

At least in wrestling heaven these guys will get their due from an audience of their peers.

On a lighter note, Dolph Ziggler held his own on the premier of this season’s Roast Battle. If he showed that kind of timing and material on the mike in the ring it would do him well.

NOOOOOO They killed off my mancrush Luchasaurus!

It was funny the way they did it, though.

They recreated Indiana Jones as Indiana Johnny Mundo, with Taya as his sidekick. They found the underground temple of the Reptile tribe. Drago saw them enter, but let them get past. Then they found Luchasaurus and he beat them both up and was about to choke out Indiana Mundo when Taya found Mundo’s billy club and smacked Luchasaurus in the groin with it. Then Mundo found a sword and decapitated him. Cut the head off the snake!

I think it was last year there was a video that showed volkoff and some other former greats at an indy show that was so cheap they had mats down on the floor instead of the ring and everyone was like " I wouldn’t of wrestled …… maybe signed some autographs let the fans take some free pics"
niks official response was pretty much “as long as someone paid to see him hed show up and wrestle because the fans had supported all through the years”

That legends tour is coming through town this weekend. I hear there’s almost no wrestling, it’s just an event to sell merch, autographs, and selfies. Most of the guys need the money. They probably do enjoy it, hanging out with their old friends, getting the attention, and living the life again.

Well, it’s official - Kane is now mayor-elect of Knox County, Tennessee.

I guess that’s about it for the Team Hell No reunion, then.

This is coming to my area in a couple weeks. I think tickets are $20 and my impression was there isn’t any actual wrestling. Autographs and pictures and stuff is probably at additional charge, but not sure. Are you going?

Not according to him.

He says he’s open to making an appearance. God I hope he does, that’d be hilarious.

First local event I’m definitely choosing not to go to tonight as Smackdown is in town and we didn’t get tickets.

Didn’t feel the need to spend the money and I don’t really want to be out until 1 in the morning when I have to work tomorrow.

Let’s see what I missed.

I am going to Mae Young tomorrow though, so that should be a lot of fun.

Pretty good Mae Young last night, but I don’t think it’s quite as compelling as last years.

From a participant standpoint, there really weren’t any ladies that really stuck out to me as surprise hits. Xia Brookside is the only exception to that because she looked phenomenal to me (at least in the role she played during her match). I also think Rachel Evers improved a bunch, too.

Surprisingly, or maybe unsurprisingly when you think about it, the match of the night was, to me, between the former Sienna and the former Jade. Maybe it’s because they’ve been in a professional organization for longer than most these girls, or because they were both in Impact together and probably wrestled a bunch, but there was just a different level to their match than the rest. It was faster, smoother and told a better story.

Didn’t spring for tix for round 2, so I’ll have to watch that on The Network the same as everyone else.

Re: Sienna vs Jade: WWE tells new people what they did in the past doesn’t matter, but I still like to see how they do versus old opponents from other feds. Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles happened before in TNA and RoH. Do they come up with something new, or restage a prior move set? “That didn’t pop. Let’s do X-239 from 3/16.”
