Any WWE fans in the audience? (Part 1)

I nearly forgot to mention the most hilarious part of the Q&A at the Foley show I saw. Mick brought Brendon Burns back out (was he at the show you were at, Knowed Out?) to pick a few of the people to ask questions, and he selected a man sitting in the VIP area, who was wearing a Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt and a cowboy hat. He stood up and boldly asked the following question;

WHAT?

Mick’s response was merely that one of these days he’d better see a picture of that guy posing with Stone Cold while wearing a Foley shirt.

I don’t remember who his opening act was for the Raleigh show. He wasn’t an Aussie and he wasn’t that good.

For his Q&A, Matt Hardy and Shane Helms joined him on stage. Cameron’s about 50 miles down the road. Shane told some stories about his time at WWE. He said he rode with Edge and Christian to one show, and Edge was into bodybuilding at the time and ate a lot of protein bars. It made his farts rancid. Just before they arrived at their venue, Edge cut a particularly pungent SBD and Shane bailed out of the car, even though it was going 35 mph, and scraped his knees raw. He walked the rest of the way and when he got there, Vince came up to him and said in his Mr. McMahon voice “You jumped out of a moving car because of a FART?”

I got Shane to sign Mick Foley’s book after that. He’s such a good storyteller he should write one himself.

Matt Hardy didn’t contribute much, mainly since a guy named Bill asked him if he was disappointed that Tammy Sytch topped his number of stalker arrests. That brought groans from the audience.

I stood with Bill in line to get Foley’s autograph after the show. His friend Admir Al Akbar, GOUGE wrestling manager, was with us. They were hilarious. Admir said when he comes out with his wrestler in the show, he goes up to girls in the audience and asks them, “Hey ladies, how would you like to play Twin Towers and go down on me?” When we got up to Foley, he said to Bill, “You just had to embarrass poor Matt in front of everybody, didn’t you?”

I just read that Finn Balor and Billy Gunn, of all people, were tag partners at an NXT house show last night.

I know we’ll probably never see that pair on TV, but the idea of it just tickles my funny bone and now I’m going to be imagining Finn doing the Road Dogg monologue all day long.

Ahnd if ye doahn’t loike tat! Oive gat two words for ye!

Sook it!

He said “Finn Balor”, not “Sheamus.”

In other news, Alex Riley’s RAAAAAAAAAAAGE is on indefinite hold as he’s out for surgery. I’m not going to applaud anybody’s injury, and I don’t want him to lose his livelihood. That said, I hope they can find a role for him that doesn’t involve wrestling. Or talking.

Good Guy Neville surprises an 11-year-old fan who helped his mom chase a stranger out of their house.

As much as WWE is constantly being blatantly self-serving with their charity efforts, it’s always nice to see the wrestlers do something special for the kids.

Call me an asshole, but why is this kid being lauded? He didn’t do shit but just call 911.

Give the award to his mom who beat the shit out of the guy

You want he should have choke-slammed the squatter through a table? Let him have his moment in the sun.

Obviously not, that’s stupid. He’s just a kid!
Clearly he would AA him and then yell “You can’t see me!”

Let’s just agree to be happy that we’re raising a generation of Neville marks rather than more Cena marks, OK?

Good thing he had the presence of mind to call. It could have just as easily been his mother getting the shit beat out of her.

Please WWE, don’t devote a half hour to this on RAW and Smackdown for the cheap pops.

Helluva entrance for Sami Zayn. Gave him a lot of offense, had him kick out of an AA and a ton of other moves, a bunch of 2-counts on Cena. Of course, you knew CenaWinsLol.

Hope that isn’t a real injury.

QUIT FLAPPING YOUR JAWS CENA!!!

I’m marking out big time for Sami Zayn (minus the Arabic characters on his trunks) but I do NOT like the way this is being booked! WE KNOW Zayn is a master of selling pain, he schooled us all in his match vs KO. I don’t like him acting like a bird with a broken wing in front of Zima. It just shows that Zayn has to dumb himself down to work with Zima. And then Zima acts all generous and raises Sami’s hand like he’s got the official seal of WWE approval. Equine Excrement.

otoh, AMBROSE IS IN! AMBROSE IS IN!!! The SHIELD (plus Ricky Morton or whatever) duke it out @Payback! This pleases me.

Line of the night: “How do you know they’re plastic spiders? They could be rubber.” JBL will find any reason to heel on commentary, and Booker never gets his jokes. What’s worse, JBL feels like he has to explain them.

Booker T really doesn’t belong there. He doesn’t add anything.

I loved the 100% total lack of enthusiasm when Sami came out. The phrase “It’s Sami Zayn” was as deadpan as it could be. As for RAW as a whole, I forgot that you can actually have FUN watching RAW! Thoughts as they come to me:

  • New Day was hilarious all episode. I loved their opening segment, I loved their weird cameos…it just works. Does anyone else notice that they are doing EXACTLY what old Bo Dallas was doing, yet at the time Bo was killed because Vince didn’t “understand the character”, yet now we have three doing the same thing?

  • I think they overplayed Sami. And by that I mean they weren’t vague about it, or even try and make it a surprise. Bret literally said “Here’s Sami Zayn”. It totally killed the “holy shit!” moment of it. That was a decent match too. Hope the injury isn’t real.

  • So, Tamina Snuka has a job again. Good for her. Don’t mind that one bit either, her and Naomi together

-There were moments where I literally muted the commentary because I just couldn’t take it anymore. I hate JBL, he’s just as pointless as Booker T because he sucks at his job

  • Ryback repeated his promo from a couple months ago. We noticed. I also muted Bray Wyatt because he doesn’t interest me anymore

  • The R-Truth spiders segment had me laughing my ass off. Because, lest we forget, R-TRUTH CUT A PROMO ON SPIDERS

  • The Ascension are back. I forgot they existed.

  • I am a big fan of DA back in the picture. I read an article online that said that Backstage is clamoring for a DA push because he deserves it and DA isn’t actually voicing it himself, so the roster is doing it for him. #MITBwinner

  • The main event was stupid and predictable. There has not been a main event I have wanted to watch in, like, a year.

  • I know he’s old or whatever but, man, Kane is IN SHAPE. He’s huge.

NEW DAY!

I went to bed during the Shaemus match. Just didn’t care about it or the main event.

Yeah, Ryback promo was repetitious and uninteresting and we heard it all before. Crowd was right to shit all over it.

Speaking of…the crowd sucked. Obnoxious and annoying during what was a good RAW

There was that one commercial/whatever about NXT and people making it or not making it in WWE. And all the video was about Adam Rose…

Foreshadowing a release?

Yeah, you’d think that there was some kind of beef between WWE and Montreal audiences or something.

The speculation I’ve read is that Sami aggravated a previous shoulder injury last night - not during the match, but while waving to the crowd during his entrance. He’s supposed to be undergoing an MRI today. I hope he’s not going to have to miss Takeover, because it would be pretty anticlimactic watching the next few episodes of NXT build up to a main event that isn’t going to happen.
