Anybody doing anything for Pi Day?

And tomorrow’s Pi Day will go 3/14/15! (And of course the rest of it starting at 9.)

I celebrated by making pumpkin muffins today. Yes, muffins on 3/13/15.

That’s because I’m a rebel who plays by her own rules.

A local restaurant is offering pie for a dollar a slice, so we’ll probably take advantage of that.

We celebrated it at the office yesterday (since no one comes in on Fridays really).

It was fun, one girl baked three pies and everyone loved them and she won the prizes and was super embarassed when we did the presentation of the Golden Oven mitts. So it was obviously worth it

There are HP:MOR wrap parties, but not in San Diego. I’ll probably just set an alarm for 9:28 (am and pm), so I can say that I did something.

Sorry to all those non-USAians. You guys have to wait for 3-14-15 in your system. Oh, wait, there isn’t one! Too bad, so sad.

I usually don’t do anything, and I usually don’t eat much pie. But our local grocery store is selling 8" pies for $3.14 (normally like $8 or something) so I am going to go buy some PIE.

This is so goofy. It’s fun to have a silly day.

I’m going grocery shopping and doing the laundry. Maybe I’ll have a piece of cake in defiance.
Okay, maybe it’ll be cheesecake, which is really misnamed pie if you think about it.

Pi Day comes around every year. OK, this year we can work the year into the decimal expansion. Sorry, but I can’t feel the excitement.

OTOH, tomorrow is the 40th anniversary of the release of perhaps the funniest movie of all time, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I expect the Firebug and I will watch assorted scenes from the movie. I may have to fast-forward past some of the Castle Anthrax stuff, though, since he’s only 7.

He’s 7…that’ll be his favorite part!

Not so much silly as irrational.

It’s a well rounded holiday, but only to 9 decimals of precision.

I suppose that we could keep adding smaller and smaller fractions of seconds forever, so there’s some moment which will be the PI moment.

I refuse to celebrate π day.
I will celebrate τ/2 day instead.

I got a pencil that has around 50 digits of Pi on it.

i will have a piece on the dot.

mmm pi pie.

I want to celebrate at 9:28. Does hot, fresh blackberry jam between two pancakes count as pie?

Heck, I thought I was going to start a PI Day topic. (I was first last year, so congratulations Dendarii Dame).
But let’s not forget it’s also Albert Einstein’s birthday March 14, 1879.
Thank you.

Steppin’ out for the day with the beloved one.

When come back, will bring pie.

No.
Bring PI

I have half a slice of delicious pie in the fridge. Maybe that will be my celebration.

We host a big Pie Day party every year. This year, my father-in-law is in the hospital, both my daughters have spent the week throwing up, and my wife is just coming down with the bug herself.

This year, maybe I’ll get a fropi for dinner. :frowning:
