This is one serious kick-ass DVD! There’s also a new added ending with all the characters doing kareoke which is supremely hilarious!
Comes out on the 7th here. Definitely on my list (along with Final Fantasy).
Pre-ordered from Amazon … 3 to 7 business days never seemed so long …
But at least I have Monty Python & the Holy Grail to tide me over!
I was watching it in the store if that counts … but I’ll probably get it. Loved the movie!
My (pre-ordered) copy has arrived at the local Suncoast, but I haven’t had a chance to go pick it up yet. I’ll probably get it tomorrow.
A friend downloaded it several months ago and burned it for me.
I bought Shrek and the Monty Python and the Holy Grail Special Edition during my lunch break about 45 minutes ago. Haven’t seen them yet, but plan on watching them as soon as I get home tonight.
My husband was off today, so this afternoon we went out for ice cream then stopped and picked up the DVD. Watched it as soon as we got home.
I’d taken the kids before, but it was hubby’s first time. He loved it, and I thought it was just as good the second time around.
Sheri
No, but I did buy Snow White, the Collector’s Special Edition.
Love the magic mirror.
I like big butts and I cannot lie!!!
Marc
Shrek and the new reissue of Heathers.
The movie was great but that bit by far got the biggest laugh out of me.
That was pretty funny, but (I’ll try not to spoil it), the biggest laugh for me was the song Robin Hood and his Men did in the karoke. (And be sure to catch Robin Hood’s little wink. Do you think they were trying to tell us something?)

Yes! Bought it! Watched it… not once, not twice but three times since last night. Well, the kids did help encourage the watching. Eddie Murphy is hilarious as Donkey. And the belch by Princess rocked. lol
The making of it was awesome also. 3 years to make it! WOW!
I would have liked to have seen some “outtakes” like they do in the Disney Pixar films, but I suppose Dreamworks would want to stay as far away from the Disney format as possible.
Also your first Shrek easter egg! Courtesy of www.dvdsewer.com
Not me. I can’t figure out why that movie was such a big damn hit.
I liked it fine, don’t get me wrong, but I had absolutely NO interest in going back to the theater for a second viewing. Matter of fact, it was the in-flight movie on a trip I took last August, and I opted for my book instead.
(For one thing, I’m sick of Eddie Murphy as a voice guy…I don’t think he added all that much to MULAN, either. I AM looking forward to hearing James Coburn in MONSTERS, INC., though.)
It’ll be part of my sister’s Christmas present. I just have to keep her from buying it long enough so that I can buy it for her. Having said that, I’m waiting a little bit longer, just in case I can’t convince her. We don’t really need 2 copies.
Bought it yesterday. We’re on the second viewing now. Also bought the new Monty Python and the special edition Princess Bride for Feynn’s birthday last week. Our DVD collection is really coming along!
We all love Shrek. I’m not an Eddie Murphy fan, but even I had to admit that he was really funny as the donkey.
And thanks for the tip on the easter egg, Anonymous Coward.
I bought it yesterday. Very nice production. Winner of my Unofficial Ryan W. Mead Golden Disc Award™.
I must say that the choices for songs in the karaoke sequence were mostly all appropiate for the characters (and not just for Robin Hood, either). And you gotta love that “fuzzy donkey” outtake thing.
I’m with Ike except for the “I liked it fine” bit. This is still the movie that has me completely baffled as to why it was so popular. The jokes were cringingly unfunny for the most part, and the one bit that had potential to be funny (the “Do you know… the Muffin Man?”) was repeated until every possible bit of humor was beaten out of it. Are people so desperate for an “anti-Disney” movie that they’ll go nuts over something with sloppy animation (for everyone except the donkey and Shrek), humor that’s marginal at best, and a soundtrack that makes your teeth hurt?
Err… sorry for the hijack. Um, no, I won’t be picking it up.
