First I carefully split the pretzle, with my canine teeth,lengthwise, exposing the porous inner core. Then I pour some pop(usually Coke, but this time Dr P) in my mouth. The pop desolves the inner core into a mush. The salty crunchy outer hull surrounding the sweet wheaty mush of the center is just soooooo goooood.

What the hell is “pop”?

Sorry. Ok, anyway, my dad used to do this. These days, he can’t, or at least doesn’t, drink soda anymore, so he’s limited to just scraping the salt off the pretzel and eating them plain, at which point I have to wonder, why bother eating a salt-less pretzel?

I was at a beer tasting event recently and discovered the wonderfulness of pretzels dipped in mustard. Yum!
