Foods you eat that other people think are really wierd.

My girlfriend about hurled when she saw me spread cream cheese on bread and eat as a sandwich.

Also, people raise an eyebrow if I eat a raw potatoe with salt on it like an apple.

Whay dishes do you eat that people can’t understand?

I like to drink certain kinds of nonfat salad dressings and marinades. I’ve been known to pour two or three ounces of lemon pepper marinade or nonfat Italian dressing into a glass and just gulp it down. I need extra sodium in my diet, and this is one tasty way that I can get it. Doesn’t seem weird to me, but it freaked out one of my friends when she saw me doing this.

Boba… I “s” you not…For some reason some people think drinking a delicious japanese beverage with large black tapioca balls at the bottom is weird.

I’m the only person I know who likes smoked oysters. Nothing fancy, the stuff that comes in a can like sardines is fine.

Grits with raw egg yolk stirred in. (I know; but if I was going to die of salmonella, I would have by now.)

Sometimes I like to cut up a whole bunch of cheddar cheese and then use italian salad dressing as a dip for it. It’s frickin’ awsome! Unfortunately, I 've yet to meet anyone who appreciates it…well, at all.

Isn’t that what cream cheese is for? Spreading on sandwiches and crackers, and eating? That’s why it’s referred to as cream cheese spread, no?

I’m quite fond of potato chip (crisp) sandwiches. But frozen peas, straight from the freezer, is one of my favourite summertime treats that nets me the most strange looks from friends and family.

 Um…what does she use cream cheese for then? Or does she only associate it with cake?

Yeah. That’s weird.

Marmite.

Mayo and dill pickle sammies on toasted bread.

Not weird, per se, but I frequently eat things like hot dogs or last night’s leftover barbecued chicken for breakfast. I’m not a cereal fan and I get tired of eggs.

I also like to mash up sardines with yellow mustard and have it on crackers. Not a weird combination–they do come with mustard sauce–but I like the fish and mustard in approximately equal amounts. I don’t know if people think it’s weird or not, because I don’t let them see me do it.

pulykamell I don’t like the texture of cream cheese on anything softer than a bagel–maybe that’s what she is objecting to.

Pickled herring in cream. Yummy!

But my cowerkers think I am nuts… :dubious:

Handful of freshly popped popcorn, handful of M&Ms. Repeat.

Ranch dressing as a dip for grilled chicken (like barbecue sauce).

Doctor Brown’s Cel-Ray. My friend thought I was kidding when I told her it was celery flavored soda. She took a swig and nearly barfed. I love the stuff.

I like mozzarella string cheese dipped in sour cream.

I like 'em, too. They’re good plain, straight outta the can, but if you want to get fancy, try this. Get some cherry tomatoes, cut the top off and carefully hollow the inside out, fold up the oyster and shove it in. Make a bunch of them, then sit down and enjoy. Just pop them in your mouth. Yummy.

Before I discovered vegemite, I thought that a toasted english muffin topped with soy sauce and butter was the best!

Cottage cheese with Tabasco Sauce mixed in. Try it!

When my father was younger, he ate this. Now I eat it, and am looking forward to teaching to love it to my boys.

Spaghetti noodles. Cooked, with Mayonaise.

Mmmm… greasy goodness.

Cottage cheese with chopped dill pickles and mustard.

Ethiopian food - I love it. Injera…drool.

Everytime I mention going out for Ethiopian food, all kinds of dumb comments about “Ethiopians have food?” Yeah, funny.
