Ah, devilsknew, Thank you for ‘tight-assed’ and ‘Overcompensation’. That decribes this board well.
Yeah, take a break, pizzabrat. When you’ll come back you’ll find out nothing has changed. But like someone said: This board is not important. No earth-changing moves are being accomplished here. You’ll just get to read someone’s opinion and someone’s swear vocabulary. Can be amusing though. No more, no less.
Maybe I’m projecting, but I always thought 99.9% of the people on a message board felt this way. I certainly do. I’m starting to realize, to my consternation, is that it seems like 99% feel the OPPOSITE. THIS is their life, not what goes on outside of this.
I come in, shoot the the shit when I want and leave. The SDMB occupies ZERO of my brain when I’m not actually typing something to it or reading something off it.
Sometimes, I play a word game, argue about movies, argue in the pit. But like someone said, it’s just a toy box. You open it up. Have a little fun. Shut it when you don’t want to see it anymore.
How anyone lets it affect them negatively is beyond me.
You’re right, Trunk. Ultimately, discussion rooms on the web are little more than Internet graffiti. Take it too seriously and invest emotionally in it, and it will disappoint you. Take it easy, and it can be great fun and a fillip during a tedious day.
I think going back months to find a thread to comment on reveals more about you than it does about pizzabrat.
He or she can find picky eaters incredibly annoying. If you’re offended by that, calling someone else “offenderati” is laughable.
To the OP: Absolutely. There are days when this board is painful. Seeing a thread like this bumped because someone is throwing a fit is a good example.
